Hi gamers

i want to use fancy cach or ram disk on my lovely g75vx ( 16 G ram )

i've searched on google and found out that 'ram disk' is better that ' fancy cash' ( that's my opinion ! please correct me if i'm wrong )

anyway , i've downloaded SoftPerfect RAM Disk ( that is #1 . prove => google search :D ) and made 4 G for ram disk + 4G image file .

sorry , i'm begging about ramdisk and need you help . there is an option by name 'windows temp folder ' on tomp==> windows temp folder.
can i move other applications folder to ram disk ? or just default folder( temp folder) can be moved ?
another question is , when i open that option , 2 path will be appear and both of them are the same ?! why ?

is the first one "from " and second one " move to " ???

thank you for your kindly help :)

please see the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_R2uyuqVxw

thank you mate
as the video shows, we can use ram disk just for small applications that installed on ram disk partition ,like firefox, video player ... ?!

but what about 'windows temp folder' or another application or games ?

if ram disk just works for applications that already installed on its partition ( not for all windows proccess ) then i think the fancy cach is better ! cause fancy cach move the partition cach to ram and it will be faster ?

please correct me if i'm wrong ?

you can try this one (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?28252-I-have-no-idea-what-to-do-with-16GB-of-RAM&p=216013&viewfull=1#post216013) first to change your temp folder to ramdisk.

i don't use fancycache sorry.

temp folder is located at "%tmp%" (%temp%), which is (I believe) "C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\temp" Best way to find out? Load up an Explorer window, and type "%tmp%" into the address bar. Look at the new address.

only applications installed on ram disk gets a boost. you can have both at the same time. ramdisk is effective if for example if you use a resource intensive program like video/3d model editing. even your browser could be faster if you installed a browser on a ramdisk.
fancy cache is a totally different thing. it stores your cache on your ram for fast retrieve and reduce write to your disk. you can expect your disk read write speed to get a easy ten fold boost. its pretty complicated concept and there are generally mixed views towards it.
