Hello I have n Asus G75VW and I need to upgrade the crappy Wifi card I have. I need to know the BEST card I can get for MMORPG games that will work with the laptop. Thanks

Bigfoot Killer-N

Check their website, they have bluetooth, and non-bluetooth models.

Honestly you wouldn't tell the difference, even if you get faster speeds. If you still want to buy one, I'd recommend the Intel® Ultimate N WiFi Link 6300 a/g/n 3x3 or the Killer™ Wireless-N 1202 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO.

if you needed bluetooth, get killer 1202; or else get killer 1103.

6300 has drivers issues, I dealt with it for a year, and switch to Bigfoot

I have the Intel Centrino Ultimate N-6235. It has Bluetooth 4.0 and can receive 2 streams on either 2.4 or 5 ghz band. Not had a single problem with drivers but you must uninstall the Atheros ones first. The 6300 has 3-streams but you give up Bluetooth. And with the crappy sound system in the G75, I use my Bluetooth headset all the time. Djask is wrong if you have the BestBuy version. It doesnt allow 40mhz channel bonding widths, and you will notice the difference!!!

i have the same 6235 as tko - runs smooth, definitely make sure you uninstall everything related to atheros. hopefully going to test the speeds under a new router soon

edit: while were on it, anyone know when the half high AC cards are going to be released?

You'll notice somewhat of a difference, maybe.......

So guess I have to upgrade as well. I just redid my business with a asus router with 2.4 and 5 ghz and im sure it will not be much of a noticeable difference but the point of buying a expensive gaming laptop is for the best of the best. For it to not come with it was depressing to find out. This is my second one and im very happy with my purchase other than finding out this little factor.

yes, you can @jose_chox. i had an intel 6235; it worked but not that impressive (inherited intel's driver issues).

i guess it's better you get killer network wireless-n.

Hey guys. I've got a G75VW.

I'm trying to figure out if the bluetooth on my notebook is coming from the wireless card as well. I'm pretty sure it is, but does anyone know.?

I just want to make sure I get one that has bluetooth so I have everything covered when I do the partial teardown to swap the card out.

hi @Alpha17x, yes the stock card is a hybrid card (wifi + BT).

I tried EVERYTHING, router change, setting changes, HAMMER... JK. I just changed out my wireless card (qualcomm CRAP card) with a Bigfoot KillerN 1202 and it is SMOKIN fast on my new 5G router and... No issues!! used to conflict with ym router and drop connection even Make my network reset completely!! ALL good so far

First, make sure you feel comfortable with the disassembly process. There are a lot of things that can be damaged if you don't have the knowledge or skills. I did mine 3 times, put in, took out, and put back in. It is a great improvement. I have the Intel Centrino N-6235 and it works well.

I would go with a new Intel unit. From my experience the Killer Nic cards are trash. Have had nothing but problems with them in both laptops and desktops. Never had a single problem with an Intel nic ever.

I personnally have a Intel 7260 AC card, and went through a great deal of trouble to get it. since it was not in stock at the time it was released.

before that I had Intel 6235 it worked fine though the bluetooth craps out in Windows 8.0 (works fine in Win 7 though)

and now I changed my router from an Apple Airport Express N (gen 1)

because it dropped my Intel 6235 at the time I had it. and now Intel 7260 AC and it "drops" the internet connection occassionally
which was annoying as shiht while ingame Multiplayer.

so I got a new wireless router this Friday: Linksys EA6300.
and I can say that I am pleased that my games or generally that my laptop never loses the connection to the Interwebz!!!! :D

no idea what I am gonna use that much bandwith on the router to laptop though :P (866.7Mbps)

So I'd recommend getting the Intel 7260 AC card :)

and it is VITAL that you get the Model: Intel 7260HMW that ends with HMW = 802.11AC wireless + Bluetooth 4.0
because Intel has made a "ton" (3-4 models) of wireless cards that has the same name (7260). some of them are single band, no bluetooth, dualband etc. 7260HMW = That is if you want the one with Wireless AC capabilities

good luck :)
