I'll be honest as I'm new here, I really do not like the look of the shuttle backpack but when it comes to the Nomad It just sort of does it for me.

I'm finding it very hard not the buy the Everki Titan in the mean time : /

95.99 that's actually pretty good it's less than I thought :) says out of stock Not sure if that's because It's actually out of stock or because it's so damned new it's not fully registered on the ASUS shop site.

Wow just wow. Who launches a laptop on a market where there is very few backpack that will fit it. Then delays the launch of their back packs by years. Or maybe I am missing something because every where i look for this backpack I just cant find it. Is it not bad enough that I will have to sell a limb to be able to buy it but then I just can't find it. I did a search on http://us.estore.asus.com/ and can't find it! Where do I need to go to get it? I will settle for a non-Asus backpack at this point but the issue with that is that most 17" backpack will not fit the g750 laptop so i risk having to return many different bags. I lost my roof on my house(back in June) and had to lug my laptop around for over 10 days from hotel to hotel I really could have used a backpack for it back then and i REALLY need one now. So what do i have to pay to get this backpack? Where do i have to go to get it? I have been trying to get a backpack that will fit my g750 for over 6 months and it is very sad that Asus will not help me protect my investment with a backpack that will fit my laptop. Sorry for the negative comment but i just don't know what to do. On the first page of comments the first comment was left on Dec of 2011 and it is now Jan 2014(if i'm right that is 2 years). Did I miss the launch and life cycle of this "ROG Nomad Backpack"???????? I don't think that Asus should have left us with out a backpack for so long.

On the First page the only 2011 Dates I can see are the Join Dates of those Members posting here.

The Nomad Backpack was teased to us just over 6 Months ago at Computex 2013 the Backpack is listed on the UK asus Site and last week it did have a price list but..

Since maintenance on Monday to that site the Price is no longer showing https://www.asus.com/Computer_Bags/ASUS_ROG_NOMAD_BACKPACK/

Waves Money I've saved up now take my money ASUS.

No offence, but when you're angry you should calm down first and notice that the 1st post on this thread was in June last year(2013), not in 2011...so, it hasn't been years, it's been 7 months since it was announced and now slowly being made available on ASUS' e-store.

Got My Backpack and it fits my G750 perfectly, Love the Carabiner and what they forget to mention is there's also a Pouch for HDD's inside which you can take out nice little touches like that make it all the better.

MarshallR wasn't kidding about what you can fit in Although it's big it's not so big it dwarfs you.

Just one critique nothing major I'm a guy with quite a big ol chest.. the Chest strap only Just fits me besides that I'd say for me everything is just right.

Looks good feels good fits my Laptop ( & Kitchen Sink ) I'm happy.

Any more news on when the Nomad backpack will be available in the US, beyond "sometime in mid-Feburary"? I have my money saved up (hopefully I have enough), and plan to order it as soon as it is available. Impatient, anxious, you bet!

So I realize this thread is old ish, but apparently Amazon had stock a few months ago and hasn't gotten any since.

Is there just that little demand for the backpack? I mean, the G750s are out and all over the place, not sure why not the backpack too.

Thanks

It appears that Excalibur PC is getting some in on 5/31. They have ebay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/141243102704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 That says down below that the ETA is 5/31. I just went to their website and pre ordered it there. Here's the link where I found it on their website http://www.excaliberpc.com/631384/asus-17-rog-nomad-90xb0160-bbp000.html If and when I get more news from the pre order I'll let you know if you feel uncomfortable with it. I'm not too worried since I can use paypal on their website and I can always go to paypal if I never see it.

Hope this helps!

I guess I'm wondering why no major retailers?

Like Amazon, Best Buy etc....

Not sure how big of a market people like ExcaliburPC have but I'd rather get it from Amazon. Guess I'd consider that if there's no other choice but this is just strange, as far as I know they never said it would be a limited edition product but I didn't follow it that closely.

Thanks nonetheless.

Did anyone actually preordered the backpack from Excalibur PC and got any update on the status?
I am waiting for the backpack too and was wondering the samething as LaughingCheeze's.
On Excalibur's website it is still says "back order" and I was wondering if anyone got any update from them if they pre-ordered.

I recently ordered the Nomad from amazon, just about 3weeks ago or so. But by the end of the week they were sold out. The one thing I did was requested an email alert when the item was on sale again. The email alert worked and I was able to order before prices changed and they were sold out.

So UPS delivered my new R.O.G. Nomad backpack last night. I must say , it is a beauty !! I will test fit all my gear today after work to see just how much it can really hold.

Upon opening up the box and shredding off the plastic bag I started looking for blemishes and any other workmanship issues that I have experienced with other backpacks in the past. I found almost nothing wrong with the workmanship except for one loose thread which I quickly burned and let it melt so that it did not try to work itself loose and cause the seams to begin pulling apart.

Zippers: They seemed to be pretty good quality. Not the best I have seen, but definitely not the worst.

Storage Compartments: Very nice pockets and sleeves for most anything you would want to pack for a LAN party or travel trip.

Exterior: The exterior of the bag is really nice to look at. I like the red trim and accents, and the fact that the bottom is not perforated and holds it's shape pretty well. It is not solid , but it is rigid enough to keep anything from chewing it's way through it from normal wear and tear I would think.

Interior: The inside of the backpack is well padded and soft. I have no worries of my gear becoming scratched or gouged if it is placed properly within the pockets as designed. The laptop area is well padded as well. I could not tell just how thick the foam inside the liners is , but it seems to be more than adequate to keep things protected. I may look into an additional padded sleeve though just to make sure.

All in all I an really pleased with this purchase. If you can find it somewhere I do recommend that you get one. You already paid a pretty penny for your laptop, why not spend a little more to make sure that it is protected when you decide to take it out to play elsewhere.

I would post photo's, but I think all the images on ASUS' website have it more than covered.

OK, I've had the bag for a little bit now and I have noted one bad thing about it. Neither one of my keyboards will fit in it. I have the OLD SCHOOL Logitech G15 with the fold down LCD screen and a Razer Anansi. They are both too long. Oh well, not a major deal as everything else fits.

1- G750JM w/ PSU
2- MadCatz R.A.T. 7 MMO
3- Razer Naga Epic
4- 2GB USB HDD
5- iPod Classic 80Gb
6- iPad w/ Retina
7- Wacom Intous 4
8- 2x Glasses w/ case
9- Notepad & Pens
10- Kindle (Keyboard)
11- Misc. cables & connectors

So I am going to find a keyboard that will fit and will have everything I need to travel and play and still have room for other odds & ends. I am really glad I decided to purchase this backpack, even if it was a bit on the expensive side. \m/
