August?

That's too bad for Asus.

Right now, you can purchase a Sager NP8270 at XoticPC with a Nvidia GTX 780M 4GB card, running on a Haswell i7-4700MQ for $1719.00 USD.

By delaying the G750 JH to August, Asus will probably lose sells to Sager, Alienware and MSI - all of which have gaming laptops with a GTX 780M.

Be aware though, that Alienware, and XoticPC are also having wait times/delays for when they willship them out, because of the limited stock of 780s.

Considering the coolling system offered in ASUS G Series Laptops is way beyond that of Sager, MSI & Alienware...customers will patiently wait because they know they won't be getting a lap heater when they get their hands on a 750JH

I would not lump Sager, MSI and Alienware together. While the high end MSI gaming laptop GT70 uses only a single fan for the gpu and cpu, the higher end Sagers and Alienwares use two or more dedicated fans for their gpus and cpus. And with the higher end Sager gaming laptops, you have easy access to the heatsinks/ fans for cleaning purposes. For example: at 29:50 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnUThlPz3iE

While I have not seen any video of the heatsink/ fan system of the Asus G750 series, in the previous generation, the Asus G75, the customer had partial access to the heatsink/fan systems. In comparison, high end Sager cooling systems are totally accessible and thus much easier to clean.

..and loud as hell. I had the clevo P150SM with Gtx 780m at home and gave it back after two days. The Clevo notebooks are powerful and cool but as loud as a hair dryer. Imo it is not possible to play a game without headset or while watching TV.
I'm still looking forward to the G750JH, hoping that it is cool and quiet..

I've been waiting months for the 750JH. Surely they can provide us a release date by now, as well as a price point.

I'm ready to buy at Amazon the second it becomes available!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to this http://www.excaliberpc.com/626055/asus-g750jh-db71-17.3-rog-laptop.html, it will be available in September. Can we get a clarification ? Even an estimate date would be welcome.

The release date in sweden were set to the 8th of august (preliminary shipment of my ordered piece) and then changed at around start of the aug month to the 15th of august. So it could be that the actual release date is set in September if it continues being pushed further back.

Which will dissapoint me, I'm already looking for other hardwares since I'm in need of a new laptop not then but now.

Just to update, the lack of communication for release date by Asus finally pushed me over the edge.

I went with a Sager. Crossfire 8970m's, Haswell chipped.

Good riddance this go around, Asus. Maybe in the future you guys will give us a little more clarification. Even if it's an overshoot. Give us something or I'll purchase elsewhere. The only thing worse than waiting... and waiting... and waiting for that specified release date to approach is being left completely in the dark.

I was really looking forward to a G750JH, but we aren't going to just sit around and wait forever (especially not those of us who are in between laptops and don't currently have anything to hold us over).

Contacted ASUS, they can confirm that the ETA release date is the 15th (In sweden) if they can be pushed out as planned from the factories. Which basically means. ETA 15th if all goes as planned. So yet another preliminary date.

I'll give them to the 19th if they pushed it any further I'll go with MSI, overheats as hell (atleast mine does) but atleast It has been working for 3 years. I need a PC now not then :3

I just hope and wish that when they are released I don't get my hands on one of those so called "Monday examples" which explodes after 1 day of use.

Well, August 19th sounds good enough for me. As far as I am concerned, I was expecting a date around Mid September given what I have been reading on the net lately, so this is quite good news. I guess the only thing left is the waiting game, yet again.

I called my favourite Canadian supplier (NCIX) and the guy on the phone said they received some yesterday (14th), but immediately sold out to pre-orders. Either they didn't order enough, or Asus has limited global supply. He said they should receive more in Sept. It's getting ridiculous.

I just cancelled my order.

You do realise following the dates on the webshop it will only show the availability of computers NOT bought. It's still 57 computers coming in at Aug 22., but during the weekend, these were sold out, so it showed 95 items available for Aug 29, meaning this is when the next shipment is due.
Luckily for somene else, I see you cancelling you order has freed up a computer for delivery Aug 22.

I was told that the reason for the push from 15th to 22nd was that the shipment coming in for the nordic countries was sent with arabic layout of the keyboards. The factories therefor had to send a new shipment. Unlucky, but these things do happen.
I highly doubt you'll get another brand computer with same specs delivered faster as the 780m card is really hard to get a hold of for computer makers these days

NCIX has a bunch in BUT BE CAREFUL WHICH MODEL THEY SEND YOU !!! They also carry the version with the messed up abortion epic fail keyboard layout as well as the version with the normal keyboard layout. I ordered one they sent me one with a messed up keyboard so I RMA'd it and now waiting for that to go through before getting the proper one shipped to me. $2299.00 is what they are selling for with 16GB ram 750GB HD +256GB SSD with tax and insurance its just under $2500.

If the model number ends in CA, you will get the standard keyboard I believe. My guess is your originally ordered the 256GB Raid (128X2) plus 1.5 TB 5400 RPM and 24GB unit?

Ya those are the two models NCIX has as well but they don't tell you in the product description or in the specification page and the pictures are all of the normal keyboard its all hidden for some reason. The only way is to dig it up on the internet independently but the CB is the French abortion epic fail keyboard configuration and the CA uses the proper US keyboard layout. I can just imagine how many hundreds or even thousands of otherwise great laptops except with the french version of the keyboard sit on storeroom shelves gathering dust eventually becoming nothing but paper weights all because some idiot glue sniffing retard thought up a separate keyboard layout. Given a choice 999/1000 buyers will pick the regular keyboard layout over the other but still they keep sending those versions to Canadian stores trying to offload them on people who don't realize they are being bent over the desk and reamed hard.

I'm pacing back and forth as I see my JH on the UPS "on truck for delivery" today!

I'm so done with my wifes Dell, trying to play games after selling my MSI GT60 ! Hope I don't regret going back to Asus after two annual stints with MSI (which I have been happy with except for noise and heat blowing out to the left onto my wife while she is trying to sleep lol!)

Hi guys,

There is a Canadian model also available (Asus G750JH-db72-ca) for $2,199. I picked up mine a week ago from one of the Canadian retailers. Send me a PM if you want to find out the name of the retailer, as I don't want to advertise them. This model has a single 256SSD instead of dual 128SSD in Raid 0, 750HDD, and 16GB RAM instead of 24GB. Everything else is the same as a US model. Also, note that this model does not have 3D 120Mhz screen.

So far this machine is a beast. It's running everything I can throw at it on ultra setting, without heating up even a little bit. I came from a G73SW model, which was a great laptop but G750JH simply is on another level. Aesthetically, it looks much nicer and has a better quality feel than my old G73 model. Keyboard and touch-pad have been also greatly improved and work well. So far most games that I played are last gen (Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead) but tonight I will try to run Metro Last Light and see how the 780m stacks up.

Not the real problem with that keyboard the problem is they actually changed the physical layout of the keyboard that is where the epic failure comes into play. The enter key is now vertical on the top right and the left shift key is cut in half and they added 2 keys in the spot where they are in a normal keyboard.

So if your used to a normal keyboard and get this abortion you will know its not that they have a couple french accents on the keyface. Plus as a GAMING laptop the left shift is kind of an important key in a lot of games and to have it cut in half and a new key put in will really really make you want to hulk smash the idiot who decided that making this keyboard and putting it on computers was a good thing.

For $2200 for a laptop to get a non standard keyboard is just unacceptable in so many ways. I RMA'd mine without even opening the box when I found out they send me one of these clown keyboarded ones.
