View Full Version : G75VW, GPU problem

Hey guys,

I got this issue with my GPU for a couple of days. I guess it's warming a bit too high, even tho I'm just browsering on Chrome. Its temperature it is almost above 55 Celsius degrees, but something else bothers me. I installed a windows 7 widget that allows me to check on my GPU information, however it says that my GPU fan is not working (it displays it does no spinning).

Also, could you tell me if this G75VW has any fan cooler besides the 2 easy-detectable on the back?

I forgot to mention, but the widget can be found here: http://addgadgets.com/gpu_meter/

In my opinion the widget just does not have the ability to detect the fans speed. Try running a game and check the temps then if its below 80 degrees then its ok.

You are fine. My range when I'm not gaming is anywhere from 40 to 60. it generally wont stay there long and if you pull a page up with no video streaming etc and just sit, you'll notice it fluctuates and at times will stay at 50 55 for a while etc. It's normal.

As for the fan, just get MSI afterburner or speedfan. I don't believe you can control the fan in this notebook btw and don't think you should mess with it anyway as the cooling does a fine job of that on it's own. If your GPU fan weren't spinning you would be well above 55c

HWiNFO64 will show you RPM speed of the fans... btw u cant control the fan speed in any way...

It doesn't have any other fans besides the two obvious ones. However, the cooling system is quite good, and you shouldn't have a problem with it. My 560M idles in the low 50s Celsius, so I wouldn't say that it is a problem. My ambient temperature is 25-26 C.
