Hey all just picked up my g74 and I can not find a backpack big enough to fit this beast in while traveling.
Anyone had any luck with any particular bag? I am thinking of picking up the Oakley Kitchen sink but for 200 bux I want to make sure it will fit.

No...thats for the ASUS W90...that thing is huge like a campers bag...

for the ASUS G7 series usually when you get an A1 or 3DE model they come with the backpack and mouse...

here is the back pack...

Understandably cause I have an old Samsonite 18" Laptop bag and my G73sw-3DE still wont fit in it...I was lucky that mine came with the backpack...saved me $70...the mouse is nice to but I like my Darkfield mice...

Targus makes a 17.3 Messenger Bag. Holds everything very well including power supply, mouse, disks, etc. Has a handle or strap, sells for $49.99 but Best Buy has it on sale for $39.99 right now. Its black with Grey/ yellow lettering.

Thanks for the links. I picked up the Kitchen Sink from Oakley last night. This bag is friggin huge, but the G74 does not fit in the notebook sleave, I may keep it and just keep the notebook in the main pack.

How terrible of an idea is that you think?

As long as the bottom of the bag is padded in the main pocket, that should be acceptable. If it's not padded then you may want to get one of the snug fitting sleeves big enough for this big boy and use that as an extra layer of protection. Alternatively, why does it not fit in the notebook sleeve? Is it not wide enough or you just can close it at the top? You might be able to add some velcro straps or something if it's close to being able to close.

It is just a bit to snug to fit in width wise. Sucks because the bag is 200 bux and i really dig the look24182419

I can't quite tell from the picture but if you can work it in there at all then it might loosen up after some use. I found sleeves for my netbook and smart phone to be rather difficult to get on initially but after a while the fabric or the seams stretched a bit and they fit perfectly.

I got this bag from Costco for my G73 and it fits. Snugly, but it fits and it has a ton of room for other stuff:
