So, I just got this G75vw last month and I'm wondering, how do the rear fans work? Are they both exhaust fans? or one is an
intake fan? Because only one side of the fan heats up.

Two fans. One on each side with a dedicated cooling array for the CPU and GPU.

Those small circular black grills are the "filters" for each of the fans. They output directly to the vents at the rear of the chassis.

Poppycock (and balderdash)! :) Gumwars was correct. They BOTH exhaust out the vents in the back. The one under the small access panel cools the CPU, and the one under the large access panel cools the GPU.

In normal tasks, the CPU side fan is the hot one. When gaming, they are both hot.
The filters are a mystery, for me at least, they can prevent big things from getting into the fans, but calling them "dust filters" it's just a marketing joke. The filters were like new, and the fans were full of dust on the blades.

The grille are probably more for show, and removable to allow you to clean the fans, not the filters. Yes, they are both exhaust, but they run independently, which is why one can be hot, and the other not.

I'm afraid that it might be broken. If they are both independent, when will the other one turn on?

Try running gpu and cpu stress tests to make sure both fans are working.

When the CPU or GPU gets hot enough. Like @SHADO said, run a stress test to figure out if they are both working. Both fans will kcik on in a really hurry if they are working.

ups...guess I was,wrong- but it make sense though, that they are both exhaust. My bad. Sorry.
