I am trying to run the setup from my Windows 8 USB stick (Downloaded from MS during an offer last year) but when I run it
it tells me that it cannot find any license for the windows versions I have..

So, how the heck can you install it from an Original Windows 8 DVD/Stick ?

Tried also the following
1. Got the product key from my Windows 8 Pro system from the laptop.
2. Downloaded the ISO from MS after I gave my Product Key.
3. Created an ISO and a USB Stick
4. Tried to boot up.
5. Hit INSTALL and same warning comes up, that the product key does not match from any version installed or on the disc.
(I got the product key with Belarc Advisor)
and the MS site recognized it as Windows 8 Pro.

So, why won't it install ???

Check out this sticky thread, http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?28758-GUIDE-G55-G75-Upgrade-Notes&country=&status= pretty much cover installations win 8, win 7
insure your USB Install is set up to boot UEIF, formatted Fat 32 then copy the ISO to the USB, I think the $14.95 download will look for your original OS to upgrade???? Not sure I haven't tried mine yet.

Got it to work.

Needed to create a PID.txt file with my SN in it.
Working great... and noticed that the UAC works a LOT better then the default one.
So far, all the odd issues are gone.
