Hi ROG people !! Thought it would be cool too share my first build attempt.
Really enjoyed the time (long time) to research and putting it all together. Spent approx. 10 hours over the course of 3 days to assemble in my garage. Here's a list of the "stuff" and some pics:
- Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
- AMD FX 8350
- Corsair H80i cooler
- 16gb Patriot Extreme 1600
- OCZ 120gb Vertex3 SSD (win7 pro 64bit)
- (2X) Seagate 500gb HHD (storage)
- ULTRA X4 1050w
- (2X) XFX HD7770 Black OC (plan upgrade to (2) gtx 670s, next year)
- Asus 12x write Blu-Ray
- Asus 24x write DVD
- Cooling upgrades with Corsair fans
- Aerotouch 2000 fan controller
- NXT Red LED lighting
- Dual 27" and 24" monitors
- Altec Lansing 200watt 2.1 sound

I saw some posts of some homemade PC desks and it reminded me that mine is homemade. also. Here is a picture of my desk made from junk 2 x 4's from shipping crates that were going to be scrapped at work.

I mentioned upgrading GPU's. It's been 2 month's with the Radeon's. Couldn't wait any longer (didn't go with TOP's though). Considered 770's but price is really dropping on these. 650D case is fairly good size and these barely fit. Length of the cards was okay. The fact that each card occupies 3 slots makes installation a little squeaky. :p Temps 27c at idle and 64c/68c when running Heaven 4.0, extreme settings.
