I have been having troubles with my Wifi recently, where is does not work entirely. The icon just shows a red X and when I troubleshoot it says turn on wireless connectivity. I've tired uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless drivers, updating, uninstalling wireless console 3 and the obvious fn+f2 and possibly ever combination of these solutions. Wired connection does work.

what model are we talking about? what card? what drivers?
If it is a g74 with an atheros 9001/9002, install the latest drivers in the atheros.cz website, reboot, install the ATK software, install the KB filter and then the wireless console. Probably your FN+F2 combination is not working because you did not install the ATK. Again, i'm just shooting in the air because of the lack of info .

If this doesn't work, send it to repair or change the wireless card. there are informations in this forum regarding buying an intel card and replacing it.
