hello, i am wondering if it would be possible to exchange the 660m for 670mx. i checked the thermal output and there the same and they almost seem like they have the same form factor. any thoughts?

i know some of people are doing, but asus will not recommend it.

Not possible. The GTX 660 is soldered to the motherboard. No upgrading that.

I think that's the G75 in which people are performing that upgrade. I'm not certain about the G55, but I highly doubt the G46, due to its small form factor. Even though the general shape may be similar, the electrical connector could still be different, and the mounting of the card and/or heatsink might be different as well. I would recommend against the upgrade. If you are in need of more performance, supplement your G46 with a nice ROG-based custom desktop...

Impossible. The card is soldered onto the motherboard itself. Upgrading would need you to get a completely different mothermoard. And even so, it is not just the core, the memory, and the other components that it depends on would also need to matter. It is not just about the core.
