View Full Version : Current USB Drivers Posted for Win7 are BAD

Just want everyone to be warned that the current Win7 USB3.0 drivers on Asus's support site (at least for the G75VW) do NOT work.

I did a clean install of Windows 7 where everything else went smoothly. After that none of the USB ports worked. I spent all night searching for answers, installed and uninstalled USB Charger Plus, tried manually in/uninstalling stuff, got some BSODs, but the real problem is that the driver is just BAD. So those who got it on LiveUpdate got screwed too.

The only place to get the correct version that works (for me at least) is straight from Intel:

Hope this helps someone. It would be nice if after spending a nice chunk of change on this laptop I could at least get working drivers. :p

Are you sure the correct USB3 driver, and not the "USB Charger Plus" was used from the Asus Download (http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VW/#support_Download_30) page?

I have no "problem" with the "official Asus USB3 driver"
All ports are working correctly!

Well I was working fine on the 235 drivers and now am working fine on the 251 drivers, not sure what driver set is on the download site. I remember back in Dec or Jan that some people were having issues with the drivers set release around that time. Seems like the 235 set came out back in Sept 2012. Most of the issues we have had with USB 3.0 have had to do with the Asus Charger Plus program It can become corrupted and cause havoc. Sometimes taking an uninstall a reboot a couple of times to completely remove it. Most of those problems were disconnects and reconnecting
