Hello there.

I just put my hands on a G46VW free dos and untill right now I have no clue how to install Win7. I know how to install it via USB but not on this particular laptop :P

Any tutorial or something?

Yes there are some guides in this thread (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?28758-GUIDE-G55-G75-Upgrade-Notes&highlight=Revert+Bios) Pay attention to the UEFI GPT install guide, you'll need to set your USB up correctly and may have to create a UEFI Boot file.
I know nothing about Free DOS can't help you there.

The easiest way to create a bootable USB drive is to use Rufus (http://rufus.akeo.ie/)

a simple program, you can simply choose; mbr UEFI, gpt UEFI or mbr BIOS
it creates the USB stick for you.

To do the Windows 7 USB, I would use the Windows 7 USB Installer tool from Microsoft. However, I don't know if the USB key created from that would boot/install on a UEFI system. :/

Yea it won't it creates a NTFS USB can't install to UEIF, USB has to be Fat32

Managed to install it after all.

My biggest problem is that I can't install my chipset. I know the g46 is made for windows 8 but I read that with a bit of elbow grease you could make it work under 7.

The intel driver update utility ain't working, it analyzes the comp for ever and it seems you can't find the driver anywhere.

Any clues on how to get this job to the end?

It should work, most drivers for Win 8 should work with Win 7. Why do you need the chipset driver? Does it prevent certain things from working?

@Clintlgm, I believe it is "UEFI"(Unified Extensible Firmware Interface).
