Hi,

I've got the Asus G74 and am using the Microsoft 4000 keyboard.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to somehow duplicate the function processes that normally work on the G74's built in keyboard and use those functions somehow from my Microsoft 4000 keyboard.

Specifically I'd like to be able to turn off my laptops internal monitor when I'm not using it as it's usually pretty blinding to my eyes over to the right side where I keep my laptop.

So, imagine if you will that my setup has my Acer 24" external monitor in front of me, and the Microsoft 4000 keyboard directly in front of me, and the laptop sits off to my right side where it's far enough away now that it's no longer convenient to try to use the FN# keys.

Some way to duplicate the FN key on the Microsoft 4000 keyboard would "seem" ideal.

Thanks for your time

In case I was too verbose above or not clear (which is not unusual for me)...
What I'm attempting to do is to be able to turn off the laptop screen (like you can do with the FN+F7 keys on the laptop keyboard) using my external Microsoft 4000 keyboard.

Any clues?

i think you can not press Fn + F7 to close LCD monitor at external KB.
