Hi, I just brought a asus g60 used and brought a new battery for it as well as repasted the heatsinks. I did the heat mod where I cut out the vent that blocks the fan as well as cut the blue wire so the fan is always on. Idle temps are around 40-50C and load temps are around 70-80C. The thing is I can't play games with just the battery, it ends up shuting off, but with a charger I can run the laptop into the 90C maybe even higher, but I never go that high. I need help, thanks.

um... plug it in? :D

Can I ask what kind of games you are playing? If it's anything like my laptop I simply do not play games on battery. The Power4Gear software slows the processor down to conserve battery life so you don't get great performance on battery. Not to mention my battery would last 90 minutes at most playing BF3 on Battery.

i think you will plug adapter, becasue it is only half performance when you just plug battery, but you said you can not play game when just usre battery, are all games same when you play?

I found out what happened, the 3rd party replacement battery I got doesn't supply enough power to the gtx 260m which causes it to turn off. I can play games with the stock battery.
