I have an ASUS G75VW-TH71 with a Core i7 and 12 gb ram. Using MSI Afterburner I can take Core Clock up to 135 with no problems, but when I take Memory Clock above 800ish my screen gets scrambled. I thought it was safe to take it up to 1000. What might be the problem? Thanks!

That's because the 660M almost max memory overclock is around +500. The core overclock is no problem, but memory clock shouldn't exceed 500.

Stock ---------- 950/2500
OC +135/+500 - 1085/3000

I use a +135/+350 myself with my 660m on the occasions I OC. It's always been perfectly stable at those settings.
