I just bought my new G750 Jx-cv038h and was about to buy the Asus 24" LED VG248QE monitor - and my main reason for that was that i could play with 3D and use 120/144hz with my laptop on that monitor !

But i just found out that i dont have Mini dp on this laptop! Can i buy a converter or something like that ?? What to do !! Anyone!

You can use the Thunderbolt port. It's just a mini display port with added functionality, fully compatible.

what extenebraelux said. the thunderbolt port works exactly like a mini display port, except it is also compatible with thunderbolt devices.

Flea:

Okay, is just be sure, because im about to buy the monitor right now -

This is the monitor : ASUS VG248QE 24" / 1ms / HDMI, DP / 144Hz / 3D /

So the only thing i have to do, is to buy a mini dp cable, and then connect it by thunderbolt on my Asus g750jx 3d ready to the monitor dp port then i have 3d/120hz/144hz ready on the monitor also??

Yes a thunderbolt port will work as a mini display port.

This guy seems to explain it well: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110722091931AAt1DPn

Okay cool! So i can connect my laptop (G750jx 3d ready) to the this monitor

ASUS VG248QE 24" / 1ms / HDMI, DP / 144Hz / 3D /

and still get 144 hz / 3d ?

And what cable do i have to buy? mini dp to DP ?

the specs are a bit vague on that. apparently only the DVI dual-link is enabled for 120HZ input so it could be a matter of getting a mini dp to dual link dvi but that is something I am not practical with, sorry. Check out this thread (http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m18x/713553-exactly-what-cable-needed-displayport-work-120hz-higher-3.html)

Okay, so you are saying that the 3d monitor itself should be with Dual link dvi port before i can run 120hz? Right?

http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG248QE/

can you please check it? It says it has Dual link? So its working with 120hz right?

Okay so you are saying that the monitor itself should have DVI-dual-link before i can run 120hz on it with my laptop? Am i right?

http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG248QE/

It does have DVI, so it should work, right??

Thunderbolt on WIndows laptops can do DP and HDMI via an adapter. Widely used practice across many organisations.

There COULD be some models which don't do every variation, but this would be a rarity and likely due to drivers.

Yes however the DP to Mini DP cable is available and DP carries much higher resolution than HDMI , it replace DVI and carries digital audio too.
