I log into my account on Asus.com

and get offered this promotion

"ASUS Premium Care- BACK TO SCHOOL Promotion

A New School year, A New Start!
We care for your gear - ASUS gives you better protection with the Warranty Extension Package.
Promotion Period: 2013/08/12~2013/09/30"

takes you to https://serviceshop.asus.com/

yet whenever I click on it it does not offer any Promotion to US users?

why are you offering this to US users if you are not going to allow anyone in the US to purchase it?

Odd. I've never seen it, but then again, I haven't been on Asus.com, only on the forums, and when I log into the forums, I get redirected straight to the forum homepage.

That subdomain is for global. For North America go to:
https://www.asus.com/support/Premium-Care/

Each region is subject to its own laws and warranty agreements.
You do not say which product you own, but in example ..
http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VW/#support_Warranty
(http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VW/#support_Warranty) Each product has a support/warranty page explaining the policy.
In the above example a extension is offered by contacting a sales rep.

I believe assuming 'we' in the US are being 'screwed' without contacting them
is jumping ahead of ourself. I suggest you call and see what is available and/or
can be offered.

Best of Luck.c.
