I had the same issue when I bought a GT70. The problem? The shipping process ruins every thing. My chassis was falling apart due to damages caused by some guy probably dropping it (box even had a huge dent). The only thing you can do is send it back and hope the shipping crew doesn't ruin yet another one.

Best of luck to you.

Got a new unit today, its firm and all covers are in place:P tho after putting in my SSD, one clamp of the backcover broke off and managed to get inside the laptop so now i have a 1300euro maraccas, but its nothign that really bothers me, only hear it when you shake it :P

So now im happy with the laptop finaly, and this one also runs about 10c cooler on the GPU :O 64c after an hour of final fantasy :D me like

Plastic .. well, your going to want to get that out of there at some point .. don't want it to end up in a nasty place and cause
a problem.

Great news though .. never hurts to stand up for yourself .. Happy ROG'n.c.

Dont know how to get that plastic bit out, tried shaking and wiggling but it wont come out, only thing im afraid of is if it gets stuck near a hot componenet or in the fan, but i dont know how or if it can get inside those places :P

Use one of the characteristics of plastic to your advantage: Plastic Floats.

Get a large Apple Dunking Tub => It is a Halloween Favorite, Readily Available.

Take out the Apples. The Apples will get in the way of the Laptop Dunking.

Dump the Water as well, and dry the Tub.

Remove the Protective Cover from the Back of your Laptop! The plastic piece needs an exit to escape.

Fill the Laptop Dunking Tub halfway with 3M Novec™ 7000/7100 / Fluorinert

Dunk Closed Upside-Down Laptop into Tub filled with 3m Engineered Fluid, and Swish around to get the fluid throughout the laptop, and continue gently swishing until the plastic piece floats out and away!

* Verify with 3M the applicability of the proper Engineered Fluid:

if you're going to dunk your laptop in engineering oil just to get out a piece of plastic, with risk of unexpected consequences on parts such as speakers, fans and screen, you might as well just partially disassemble it to get the piece out.
