premise: this happened with the old, stock drivers too. I just seriously noticed this now.

as per title, I just updated to 327.23 drivers using geforce experience (I am testing for issues) and while testing 3D, which I rarely use anyway, I noticed that the screen dims noticeably once I launch a 3D game. This is very noticeable even before putting on the glasses.
Shouldn't it be set at LEAST at maximum brightness to counter the loss of brightness already caused by the glasses? The smoking gun is when I alt-F4 out of a game where I am back to the desktop, in 2D obviously, and the brightness is clearly somewhere near minimum and brightness adjustment does not work. Disabling 3D in geforce control panel reverts the screen to full brightness. any ideas?

yes, it happened before too. I updated through nvidia geforce experience which went just fine for whatever reason.

Do you have splendid/power4gear installed? If so, i would get rid of them. Customize the power profiles afterwards and try again. I would also go for the beta 331.40 (http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/67382) drivers.

I tried uninstalling splendid and disabling power4gear but the screen brightness still goes to minimum as soon as I launch a game in 3d mode. the ones I'm testing it on, btw, are remember me and devil may cry. I'll try the new drivers, but in the meantime is there any other possible solution? this is particularly annoying because sellers advertise the G750 as having the Lightboost tech which should make 3D especially bright.
