Works on Windows 8 :)

An application to disable the Windows keys without the need for registry hacks/tweaks.

Sorry, this may not be related to this case, but if anybody is having similar issues in Win8 while using the touchpad, just wanted to mention there is a way to change the touchpad settings to solve this as mentioned in this sticky thread Win8 Games Minimizing because of touchpad [solved] (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?34995-Win8-Games-Minimizing-because-of-touchpad-solved).

Thanks cl-Albert, when I ran with the Touchpad I disabled all the fancy settings - I kept dragging a finger and barely touching the touch pad, causing something unwanted to happen.

This is my favorite TouchPad setting:

The "disable windows key while playing games" link did not work for me. The program started up and everything but the windows key still worked

iweber, I downloaded the windows key disabler fresh again, to see if the download was corrupted, picked the UK download repository, downloaded - unzipped, ran it - and both my wireless keyboard and the laptop keyboard Windows Keys were disabled - and exiting the systray program allowed both the laptop keyboard Windows Key and the wireless keyboard Windows key to start working again.

I am running the Asus Windows 8 original install.

Here is the direct download from Softpedia, and from the developer site
