Would like to know if anyone has successfully upgraded to Windows 8.1? If yes, please share your experience.

i think more of people is success, if you down't know how to do, you can call the service center to ask, or google.

Lol, I know the 'how to', but wanted to know if anyone had any issues during or after the clean install...

Ouch, the Wireless Driver not working is a bummer... I guess I should wait till the drivers are out.

By the way, I just checked, the Wireless Drivers are seperately available for Windows 8.1 on the Asus Site

I upgraded and experienced no issues going from 8.0 to 8.1. The only driver I have touched is the newest Nvidia drivers. At home I use my laptop on a Toshiba HD TV via HDMI and switch between HDMI sound and onboard sound all the time. I also use the wireless and havent experienced any trouble with it on 8.1 either.

Just to note, I was skeptical about the KillerN Wireless and thought I may have to go aftermarket and replace it, but it has been a VERY nice performer. I have the ASUS PCE-AC66 for wireless on my desktop which is a very nice long range wireless adapter, this allows me to get 5Ghz in my back bedroom from the front room router. This KillerN in this laptop actually connects at 300mbit on a desk right next to my laptop when the Asus Desktop adapter connects at 264mbit. So it is on par with or even better then the desktop solution which speaks highly of it in my opinion.

I did the an inplace upgrade through the store and it went fine

The wirless and Bluetooth were still working, but installed the drivers from Asus anyway, not seeing any difference

I also then upgraded to latest Game Ready Nvidia and it went fine as well in regards to Graphic Driver, but the Geforce Experience croaked with weird errors .. but really, who cares about that app! :)

Hey Gamebouncer, do you still have the ROG logo on startup with 8.1 or does it now show the Win8 Skyblue flag?

I'll check that out tonight when I get home. I actually haven't paid any attention to it!

Yup, has the Republic logo. Nothing Microsoft about the loading screen :)

After the install everything appeared ok, however my screen is bright as (maxed out) The dimmer Fn+ F5/F6 is disabled, my dimming options are blanked out .... grrrrr Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a quick fix? cheers, Tommy

The 8.1 upgrade worked pretty well.
I updated my wireless by using http://www.killergaming.com/support/driverdownloadsupport Drivers.
First download the cleaner, then the Killer™ e2200, Wireless-N 1102, 1103 and 1202 64Bit drivers.
I'm using the Nvidia Drivers, they just updated.

I updated yesterday and all seems to have gone smoothly, and the Fn keys are all working right. The only thing I did was check that my SSD's were recognised in optimizer as SSDs and not HDDs.

UPDATE: Installed the Windows 8.1 through Windows Store, and all seems to be working fine... :) Will keep you posted.
P.S. I didnt have to re-install my Killer Wireless Drivers, they worked fine after the install.

I have successfully installed or should i say upgraded my G750Jh to windows 8.1. The only issue so far is when it runs the automatic updates after the updates you will notice that your reboot process is much longer than before. In my experience my laptop will restart and reboot in 1-2minutes unlike before 3-4secs.

Honey. This thread.. is four months old. :c

But since it's resurrected, for the sake of the community, confirmed. 8.1 success install, update installs however take excessive times to reboot, although annoying, the computer WILL reboot eventually under 10 minutes.

I've successfully install or should I say upgrade my G750JH to windows 8.1. The only issue so far is that after your install/upgrade to 8.1 then automatic updates do it's thing after that reboot will take much longer than before. Base from my experience it took 1-2mins to reboot the laptop. So now I will reinstall a fresh format of the windows again to windows 8 so I could reboot my laptop 2-3secs again.

Before you reinstall Win8, have you tried disabling the bluetooth to confirm the issue and updating the bluetooth driver as mentioned in this post (there are others as well):
http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?42499-Asus-G750J-Win-8.1-takes-ages-to-reboot-(restart-from-start-menu)-solved

It looks like this customer didn't use the approved Win8.1 bluetooth driver version posted on the G750JH download site though, so if you need help finding the unapproved versions, let me know, but hoping the approved version will be able to solve the problem.

I have always updated to 8.1 but the camera did not run.
Have anyone the correct driver for Hardware-ID USB\Vid_04f2&Pid_b141&MI_00 (Chinony) Windows 8.1

Thanks
