Hey guys,

Myself and ObscureParadox-OC will be competing in in the 2013 Autumn Folly. :D

We are (very) late to the game, but we have our benching caps on and we shall try our best to catch up with the rest of you lot before the deadline on Sunday.

I will be using my 4770K and Obscure will be using his FX-8350.

Benchmarking begins... well... now! Haha.

Best of luck to you all. :)

Thanks for getting it sorted, Vizman! :D

I've been browsing the results and it looks like I have more tweaks to do than I think I know. Haha!

I don't think we are going to be able to be very competitive with a day to go. Haha. Next month I say. ;)

I can't believe I never frequented this forum before. It's so active. I can't wait to be a part of the community in all honesty!

Unfortunately, due to having started it so late, there's just no way we can get any respectable scores up. My SuperPi 4M scores are two seconds off and no matter what I do, it won't get any better.

I feel that the CPU caps may be a little too harsh and an extra 100MHz would've gone a long, long way. Well, an extra 100MHz on Ivy and Haswell making it 5GHz Sandy, 4.8GHz Ivy and 4.6GHz Haswell rather than what they are set to now. That's just my personal gut feeling but I know that Vizman most definitely did his best and I applaud that.

On the plus side, I did get to learn a bit more about Haswell and how it works. I've never overclocked that hard on it as my chip wasn't great on air but since then I have acquired a new one that is much better. Onwards and forwards, as they say! :)

Next month guys and gals... next month. :D

Just do the best you can for this comp. We have a winter palooza coming up :)

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.
Put some scores up and call it a great starting point .. others that follow will be
able to see the advances a you did ..
I know it has been a great learning experience for me to watch what the others have
done throughout these challenges as they progressed .. and that's across all platforms and cpu's ..
If I ever lay hand on another board or cpu .. I know that is where I will go to 'grow' ... Enjoy.c.

Yeah the Haswell could have had a touch more that is true, but I was expecting the way better Haswell IMC to be so much more utilized than it has been. When I did my benchmarks to get a baseline score I was benching at a minimum of 2666MHz and even up to 2800MHz with quite tight cas at times.

I need to invest in some proper benching RAM but coming by it is hard and I have other expenditures to take care of first. Haha.

Nevertheless, I'm an idiot and thought that they finished today for some reason. So... I will try to get some scores in anyway and then next month we shall do better. :)

If only I still had a decent Z77, I could've used my dads 3570K with higher clocks to my advantage. Oh well. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. :D

i missed some stuff 5 days away from home! great!
, have good benchruns there!

Just give it a go, it is about getting the maximum out of what we have. Not the best kit or anything like that.

I've got two results to upload and I will be doing the others as soon as I possibly can. :)

Obscure will be doing his as and when he gets a moment free from work.
