Just recently (within the last week), I noticed that my laptops battery light blinks.
Even when unplugged and in sleep mode it still blinks. Also, my battery icon on my computer says,
88% available (plugged in, not charging) Is there something wrong with my computer or is it the battery?
Could this also be correlated to the computer randomly shutting off? (the computers not hot, and my cpu is reading OK temp, and it was shutting off when in was not plugged in)

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks :)

Computer shutting off when the laptop is unplugged normally leads to a faulty battery. As the charger is plugged in the battery keeps on charging but the main power is being supplied by the ac adaptor so your laptop does not turn off when plugged in.The battery is at fault here and unfortunately g46v has no replaceable battery :(

you can check http://us.estore.asus.com/ type G46 to search and buy new one.

If you have any interest in sending the notebook back for repair and are in the U.S., check this contact page http://www.service.asus.com/#!consumer/csn9 to arrange it and you might also check with your store if it was purchased from Best Buy for any better options, but not sure what they will tell you.

You probably are still under warranty though and try to dig up a copy of your invoice or check the invoice date just in case you need it since it usually will give you a little more warranty than providing your notebook serial number alone.

Good luck!
