No you only need 1 SSD, you can use your 1TB drive for Data storage after cloning your OS to your new SSD

Check out this one Top of the line if you can't afford the 256 GB http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-2-5-Inch-Solid-MZ-7PD256BW/dp/B009NB8WRU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1383081113&sr=1-1&keywords=samsung+840+pro+256gb

I'll second the recommendation for the Samsung 840 series. I picked up a non-pro from newegg when they had a killer deal and been truly impressed with performance and stability.

I did what most everyone else does, setup the SSD for OS,drivers, etc.. and move the stock 1tb hdd to storage use. Works out great!
