Hi,

Procrastinating for 2 years, I've finally decided to make the effort to learn how to make a clean win7 install on my g53sw.

I think you can use this image to install win7 - is that correct?

http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/

After googling, I found some guides, but since this is a old laptop I guess its normal that some of the links offered does not work anymore.

I found a thread on this forum with the drivers needed, am downloading it as I type. Is this still the optimal drivers for this laptop?

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?5224-Drivers-Apps-and-How-to-s&country=&status=

Is that all I need to do this?

Thanks

I think you are saying:
"Will you please try to follow the Windows Setup instructions [in the installer itself] to make a clean install of Windows 7. If there are any updates available, please install any Windows 7 patches after installing."

Do you know if the Win7 will work without problems? I have installed win from disc numerous times on other pc's, but I think I remember to have tried this once before on the Asus, got stuck, recovered from recovery partition and left it with that.

Then I have been reading that it gets stuck because of missing drivers on the disc - do you know if this is fixed? my resources to inquire after I begin this process is limited.

Thank you
