I have win7 on my drive and i opened the bottom to add an extra hdd and broke 2 plastic holders when i tryed to remove it.
Reason that i want the warranty is because my 2nd SATA port is broken.

you should just take it and tell them that the 2nd SATA port is not working. Don't go into details. They should repair that and leave your mistake untouched (or might fix it)

that is not covered under warranty, you caused physical damage to the laptop. but it shouldn't cost much to repair

i think asus are able to chnage HDD by user, bu if you broke parts and need replace, it is void warranty, it mean need to pay for replace.
