View Full Version : GPU Tweak bug. Minimum GPU voltage too low?

Kepler cards run stock at 1175mV.

GPU Tweak cannot set minimum voltage higher than 1150mV.

0.025mV = 156 Mhz.

Up and down throttling of 156 Mhz is random loss of 4 FPS now and then in game.

How to enable GPU Tweak to set minimum of 1175mV so no throttling occurs?

Could you show me your screenshot of the Gpu Tweak? And do you have your voltage slider unlocked?

Certainly, this is it:

It will only go to 1150 and as we know the Asus GTX 670 CU II Top works at 1175mv.

So even the throttling it does between 1150 and 1175 in game means 156mhz difference which is a fluctuation of like 4 fps now and then which is irritating.

PS: The screenshot shows 6700memory but I found 6350 to me more stable (and higher fps for some reason).

EDIT: ASUS would to well to fix this for the customers. As EVGA Precision X is a very unstable program (Mhz values are inconsistent at every launch so useless for overclocking, and MSI Afterburner is essentially the same as EVGA Precision but without a voltage editor or even voltage monitor!)

Hmm and in settings you have enabled the extended overclocking range of the voltage?

Might suggest you download precisionX or Afterburner and see if you can manage the voltages better with those two applications.

What extended voltage overclocking setting?

ASUS GPU Tweak only has a setting for extended core and mem range not voltage!

Like I said Precision X and MSI Afterburner are essentially the same program bit with a different skin, and is terribly inconsistent and awful to use. Hell, MSI AB wont let you even set a minimum voltage!

Who at ASUS knows about GPU Tweak and why Kepler can only be set to 1150mV and not the Kepler standard of 1175mV.

Its a shame because ASUS GT is by far the best oc tool for cards.

These forums are dead?

Nope not dead, just not a graphic card support forum. It is more about motherboard to be honest. I have no idea how I missed your reply.

Give me 30 mins to finish up with the current system on my test bench and I will pull a nVid card and install GPU tweak.

Thanks for you positive comment about the tool. I must sadly confess as to not really liking it at all.

Took me less time to finish than I thought.

Do you have all those boxes ticked?
