This guy scored P8106 on 3dmark11 with gtx 765m and i7 4700HQ same specs as mine in my g750! i barely score half of that..can someone tell me how is this possible? hmscott if you are out there somewhere ^_^ i want to know whats your take on this http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7321329

Let me show you to the term "Overclocking"
Most likely this guy overclocked his GPU/CPU and cooled it in like liquid nitrogen.. and then ran the test.
Highly unlikely that is what exactly happened, but I do think overclocking played a key part.

impossible. my gpu and cpu overclocked to the teeth max u can only go so far on gpu tweak. i have respectable values. core 0997 mem 6088mhz with that being said. me and other gtx 765m users dont even get near that guys score. heck we dont even get a gaming laptop score. so i know the term "OVERCLOCKING" if you read closely im suprised he is doubling everybodys score. which is impossible. and i dont think you can get liquid cooling on a laptop.

sometimes undervolting with a slight underclock might do the trick (because the lower temperatures). His CPU shows overclocked (but doesn't show if he undervolted - I read that this is possible)

i know my cpu is undervolted so it doesnt heat up. -50mV right now dude. with that gpu he shouldnt be getting points like that. he either found a way to cheat or did something that we dont know :/

Most likely he used a vbios modding tool to allow unlimited overclocking and overvolting. Very risky. No other way you can reach such scores (legitimately), and I'd be really worried about the longevity of the card under such extreme stress.

It is also true we do not know under what other conditions he ran the test. What else was running, if anything.
Or on yours .. there could be many factors involved to say 'same'. imho .c.

man i don't know but we have the same laptop asus g750 with the same specs...that score with gtx 765m is like impossible to get..liek u can look up gtx 770m and gtx 780m overclocked scores ull see the diffference.

maybe he was..maybe he tweaked his nvidia options. are u talking about the modded vbios that lets u overclock your cpu to 3.8 ghz for i7-4700hq? but how is he going to overclock already overclocked card? is there a way unlock gpu clock more than 0997 mhz? hmscott had a post about overclocking this card and this card isnt stable anything more than 6288 mhz mem some people are not even stable at 6000 mhz. i am at 6088 mhz. if i showed u my 3dmark11 scores compared to this guys score. you would die laughing.

It's easy. Buy a ViDock and put a GTX 680 in it and connect via TB cause that's the score you are seeing. If you all look at the previous benches on that same system, you see a secondary adapter used with the 765m disabled, showing 0 clock. The 8k score is not from the 765m unfortunately.

Compare to your scores..

And you will see where his gains is at..

Are you running any LOD tweak?

Tailwind, super tweaked, HW modified, bug run, you name it..

ohhhhhhh wow...what's the point in doing that? that's cheating isn't it? i swear people today... i didn't even think that was possible.

kingkaan, my JW got 5008:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6885478

JX got 6038
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7188927

And the JH gets 8593
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7577257

So the only way this guy got 8106 on a JW 765m is by hacking the vBIOS, a voltage mod, and a stick of dynamite. :)

I have found the vBIOS flash / hack tools, all in Chinese - so I don't feel comfortable trying them out - I might screw up my JH - not worth bricking the 780m for a slightly higher score...

Maybe if I could break 10k ;)

its remotetly impossible for a 765m to get 8k+ unless running sli 765m

those benchmarks are users who are using Vi-dock (Thunderbolt GPU) external adapters. when you run a 3dmark, the software reads onboard gpu of the laptop instead of detecting the external thunderbolt vi-dock highter graphic card.

or um hack tweaks ;D
