Hi guys,
You all know that, most of the notebooks including RoG ones, have a lot of problems related to USB 3.0, resulting in disconnection issues, mostly due to lack of insufficent power provided by motherboard! Thanks Asus!

My question is, i saw some Y-Cable especially designed for USB 3.0 like this:
http://www.conrad.nl/medias/global/ce/9000_9999/9800/9860/9863/986316_LB_00_FB.EPS_1000.jpg

The question is: Because of my G53JW having only one USB 3.0 port, if use the cable provided above to prevent random disconnections, is it OK to plug cable power (Y-part) jack to a USB 2.0 port and data jack to USB 3.0 port? Or does that cable requies 2 USB 3.0 ports???

Note that i have Fresco stock USB 3.0 driver and beleive that updating USB 3.0 driver is not the cure as i read numerous posts online.

Thanks!

i think it is plug 2.0, Y cable is Supplemental power, if powr is enough, no need to plug Y cable.
