Wondering if its possible to get WiDi to work. Tried a couple of things but the WiDi Software won't install..... Running an Intel 7260-AC WiFi Card, its WiDi compatible, but does the chipset or processor need to be WiDi compatible too (I would think not)?

Running Win 7 Ultimate (went back from win 8.1 Pro), If Win 8.1 Pro will fix the issue I would definitely go back to Win 8.1 Pro.

Main reason is, I bought a TV that has WiDi, and it would be a good feature to have.

Anyone got this running or know what direction I could go let me know.

Thanks

Intel's website http://supportkb.intel.com/wireless/wireless-display/templates/selfservice/intelwidi/#portal/1026/article/2511/System-requirements-for-Intel-WiDi indicates that more Intel hardware like processor and graphics is required to support WiDi.

Came across that info later on.... Strange because our GPU is more than capable compared to intel IGPU.... Ended up going back to windows 8.1 Pro for the Miracast feature that the TV also supports that.

Thanks for the help

No problem.... Never really heard about Miracast till purchasing an LED TV, but its Microsoft answer to Intel WiDi... They both do the same thing from what I can see... Will post about its display performance when the TV arrives end of the week

Finally tested out, Miracast on Win8.1 Pro, works great. Once you add your TV to devices, right click on the Media File, "Play To"and choose your TV... Only problem is: Will not work for MKV files, MP4 plays fine.... maybe there is a way around this..... Also still trying to figure out of I can use the TV as a dual monitor or if its for WiDi only

Sorry for reviving this thread.. I have yesterday get my Amazon Fire TV Stick and tried to miracast /WiDi between my G74sx and the Amazon TV Stick. You wrote that miracast do the trick.

What have you done, that there are more Options under "devices" (projection) on your Win 8.1 pro?

Thank you in advance.
