Great nikosa, I've seen alot of people running the HCH9 version @2800 on XMP timings.Check this, these are generic samsung HCH9, rated @133331533 Thanks mate :). I have made extensive testing but my IMC can't go to 2800, seems to stop at 2740. But I 'll give it a try with these settings.

Arne,
Have you installed http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsource/tools/opencl-sdk that Nodens mentioned, check my opencl score to yours

No, I forgot all about that...thanks Menthol....I'll give it a go....:)....I have had no luck running Pi over 4.9GHz either...just wont get stable...and 2400 at cas 8 gave worse times than my Platinum...

EDIT: Thanks Menthol (and thanks Nodens)

Dart, I went back at it with a different approach, I swapped the pi for Corsair and went for high memory clocks, used blk to get the same 4900mhz on the core and clocked the memory up to effective 2986mhz and improved my scores, still not happy with Spi but 2 out of the 3 benches I am very happy with
RIVBE 4930K @ 4900mhz 16GB Corsair @ 2986mhz 780 Ti core @ 1415mhz memory @ 8050mhz effective

RealBench = 110521

Vantage = 60258

Woot! broke 60k! very well done Menthol and nice RB score too :D and great temps...is that on your chiller?

Dartmaul
12-27-2013, 09:07 AM
I'm pretty sure I can improve RB and SPI even without more MHz on CPU. My mem settings were not optimal. Also some more Pi are coming.
But Vantage... I can tweak LoD a bit more accurate, but it was very complicated to clock the GPU up to 1350MHz.

This is my next mission.....I am making deionized water ice cubes to add to my res...:D and praying for cold weather...I really need to set up a radiator outside in the cold al la Paw!

Kepler's 422nd birtday today...so my GK110s are celebrating;)

Menthol

I am using my water chiller, not even sure I need it for these clocks but why not, if it disqualifies me. that's OK I'll make some more runs. The first competition last December I used an ice chest with Water and ice with a rad inside of it, done the same thing as the chiller except for the runs to get ice and drain the water over and over.

if it disqualifies me

Of course it doesn't ....no sub zero was the rule! I was just interested...It's the first time I've had even "lowish" temps here and they've helped me no end but I'm thinking a chiller would help me more and allow me to bench in summer (which is 9 months here). But maybe I'll try the ice bucket first....cold weather here sun-mon-tue....going to leave the windows open in the benching room overnight...:D

Damn! I'm considering replacing my 3930K which is a below average sample (4.5 golden spot..needs exponential voltage above that) with a 4930K. I hope I get remotely as lucky on this one heh!

Great!!

Nodens...if your 3930 only does 4.5 at reasonable voltage you'd only need 4.2 or 4.3 out of a 4930K to match what you have, performance wise....I'd be tempted to look at IB-E

Thing is I've been perfectly happy up to now with staying with SB-E and my RIVE because what I've seen hasn't overawed me and my rig still seems competitive with IB-E (apart from the fact that, truth be told, I'm still learning new stuff with what I have now:o)

But now seeing that......hehe

I have been in VBios hell this past week. I was successful but every time I would run CF my frame rate went to chit. I finally got that all sorted out now with a test run that showed improvement from my last run @ 5278 MHz. Some really nice scores posted up guy’s real nice.

Awesome score meankeys!
But I still can't get the way you guys tweak RAM.
9-12-12 at 2436? I always guessed A good Samsung kit cat easily do CL8 at that freq.
Also tWCL could be much less.

meankeys
12-29-2013, 03:24 PM
Hi Dart
I never tried cl8. My kit has a hard time doing 9 I have the older kit they wont do 2800 @ default timings. Nik and Flex have good kits. they have posted 2666 or better @ 9

You been posting some really nice scores your self.
.

Dartmaul
12-29-2013, 03:38 PM
Looking at your timings I guess you should take a look at some default OC presets.
There are like "Samsung 3GHz 2.1v" etc etc, but the trick is that most of the 3thtimings do not actually depend on freq, so you can use these presets to optimize overall mem performance.

For SuperPi you can really cut some seconds like that.

2400MHz isn't very good choice, I guess you should try higher freq.
10-12-12 at ~2666MHz should be noticeably faster.

12-29-2013, 05:16 PM
Great achievements guys! Congratulations to all :) I have some really nice time with family and in a few days, I will move to an other appartment (same rent, more space, lots of things to take care). But I 've seen Arne finally flash VBIOS and having clock party, Menthol hitting more than 3000 with his memory and the usual suspect Viz, pulling a golden chip :D. For me, not so much luck passing RB at 5.2, so I hope I 'll find some time to optimize my runs in 5100 and post some results, at that clock. I will agree with Dart's advice to Mkeys. In the past I tried 2400 cl 9 and results were better with high frequency up to 2666. One thing you can try is 2400 cl8.

Arne Saknussemm

I 've seen Arne finally flash VBIOS and having clock party,

it out and gave it to her, she stuffed it in her mouth and sucked it and sucked it and sucked it. it was the last tootsie roll I had.

.. but Rock'n'Roll ... will live forever.

niko .. disco was the first volley of the attempted chick-A-fication of mankind.imho. .. women loved it ..
if it wasn't for Barry ... they might have won. [Next time she starts that 'crap' take a shower,

Well, that thought crossed my mind too...mainly for something fresh to work on but the 4770K doesn't really put in an appearance in the comps and RealBeanch tables... have to go back to 3770 for performance....but they are damned fine boards. I would delid Ivy or Haswell in 5 minutes and lose warranty....sticking with SB-E/IB-E I take out the performance plan and bench on...

Glue the ihs back on, when its time for warranty..

The phobya 2 component thermal glue, looks exactly like the stock Intel. black and the right consistency.

Heh top tip...but I couldn't do that. Though the whole debacle of TIM in these CPUs is pretty unbelievable...

The Performance Protection plan is kind of fair in my book...the chips are marketed to OC so if they fail I'll send them back but I see the insurance as fair enough on top of the warranty...although I suspect I am paying twice for the same thing...

And my CPU still works...I think...I got 5th rank dual Titan on it at the BOT the day before I sent off the board for Firestrike extreme so it can't be that bad...

EDIT: so.....I just ordered another RIVE! it will see me through to Haswell-E....

Just my Opinion Arne, smart move stay with RIVE and SB-E, unless you have a killer good IV-E chip, or just want a very good IV-E system. On a side note. you wouldn't believe how much a RIVBE weighs, that heatsink by the I/O panel must weigh a pound.

Didn't someone have a Win 8 bat file to kill services?

HiVizMan

I will put it in the drop box for you.

Arne Saknussemm
01-05-2014, 12:15 PM
smart move stay with RIVE and SB-E

It's a shame that it does seem that way...you're average SB-E seems capable of giving higher performance than your average IB-E. I would love a RIVBE but you'd have to get real lucky to find an IB-E chip that does it justice.....maybe later this year?...meanwhile the RIVE seems capable of getting the best from SB-E and running IB-E pretty well too...
Your IB-E was a pretty nice sample too...but I guess you've been spoiled by that magic SB-E...

The weight thing...I think I like that...weight often sign of a quality product...though I've never applied that to girlfriends...

In the drop box there are a couple of OS for 32 mil that you can try. The very small one is super quick but not that stable. So expect one in four runs to pass.

The other one is more stable and not that much slower. I will put some Win7 benching OS in the drop box too if you guys want.

Oh if you want access to the drop box drop me a pm with your email and I will share it with you.

meankeys my friend!...I am trying to read my post and see where the misunderstanding comes from...

I just meant that sometimes it can sound a little trite to say "we are all winners" but that I genuinely don't think so in this case....that we are, in fact, all winners and was just backing that up with what I had achieved for myself without actually winning...

I was agreeing wholeheartedly with you...sorry if it came over otherwise :o

Hey darkage....they're pretty good....I have a pair of those Menthol sent me that can do 2400 7-8-7-28....the tight PSC profile on the RIVE. they can do this up to 4.9GHz on the CPU over and they don't seem to like it...have to use up to 1.8v though to be stable in SPi32M. I do have another two sticks and they wont do this...so as always depends on your CPU's IMC and if you get good sticks...

Twisted1...that sounds screwy....i guess you've done fresh installs of OS etc? is it the AMD drivers?

Dartmaul
01-10-2014, 06:01 PM
Arne, it seems you have a very lucky kit.
I just received Menthol's 2300cl8 kit and it couldn't do 2400 7-11-7 1.85v.

I also have 2000cl6 kit and it is absolutely mad, but also, depends on luck.

I haven't seen 1600 7-8-7 kit, but recently I had 1600 6-8-6 Pi and those were crap.

PS darkage you may be interested to look at this thread http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?41995-Benching-RAM-for-RIVE-and-Ivy-E&country=&status=

Arne Saknussemm
01-10-2014, 06:06 PM
Hmm actually you saying that I realise that's a mistake....Mine don't run 7-8-7....you're right it's 7-11-7-28...but still, from 1600 sticks it amazed me....

The sticks that do it are complete mismatches from different kits...orphans.

The other two sticks are from the same kit and don't do anything....go figure...

Dartmaul
01-10-2014, 07:00 PM
Sell 2000cl6 to me and get 1600cl7)))))

The thing is that you don't need any certain kit. In some case 1600cl7 kit would clock better than 2400cl8.
It's all about luck and you can never know until you try. That is actually what i was talking about in that thread I linked below.

1600cl7 kit may not be even PSC X. If you have any pics of that ram, look at it's S\N 5-8 digits should be 1040.

Twisted1...that sounds screwy....i guess you've done fresh installs of OS etc? is it the AMD drivers?

Got it working now, and CF working with two cards.

I have a new problem now though, my PSU can't handle the load when benching. It's ok if i don't OC gpu to the max, or if I don't OC CPU to the max. But if I do both cpu @5,3-5,4Ghz and gpu's(7970) @1350Mhz the computer just shuts down like 3-5sec into the benchmark. It's a 1000W fractal design psu, not the best out there.

Getting a new PSU though :)
