Hi guys, sorry for my english and my thread, im sure that a similar topic has already been treated.. i own a g750jx.. i send my rog to RMA for a problem at motherboard, but when they resend my pc i try to restore my old disk image.. the problem is, i don't know how i can do this, that unfortunately i delete my recovery partition and now i can't restore my rog (i had a problem with a virus).. My question is: what can i do? can i download my recovery partition to restore my pc or i have to do a clean installation of win 8? there are other solution? what's the best solution?

I personally prefer a clean installation. But it's up to you.
If you want to restore it to factory settings, try this USB Recovery drive: https://mega.co.nz/#F!m9JGSIjS!EuBGFFrgzLlOOB81dozoUQ

Download all files -> extract them -> format the USB (16GB or higher) to FAT32 -> Copy all extracted files to USB -> Restart and choose boot from usb -> Do a Refresh or Reset your windows.

You will need to contact Asus Support to get a fresh image for your drive. IDK if they will let you only send the drive, or if you will need to send the laptop with the drive installed.

Asus used to sell recovery DVD/CD's on their eStore, but it looks like no longer:

"Windows 8 Recovery Software Information
eStore does not carry Windows 8 Recovery Software. If you are in need of recovery software for your unit, please use the “Windows 7 File Recovery” utility within Windows 8 to create and save your system image. If you cannot create an image due to your original system disk is corrupt or defective, please contact ASUS Support (http://www.service.asus.com/) to have your unit sent in for service."

If you have a friend with the same model, or a retailer with the same model, you could take a 16GB USB drive and run the Asus Backtracker app to backup to that USB drive, and then restore to your laptop.

you have send laptop back to service center and replace mb, i think it have install OS into your laptop.
you have two way.
1. download asus backtracker
2. buy recover from asus e-store.
but i think first way caold be easy.

To find your windows key, you'll need to install the Advanced Tokens Manager, http://joshcellsoftwares.com/products/advancedtokensmanager/

open the program=> Click activation backup=> Then go to the program folder => Windows Activation Backup folder => open the file config.ini => then you will see your windows product key. You can use it to activate your windows after doing the clean installation

I'm not sure, but I think you didn't boot from USB. Try to follow these steps:
Go to the BIOS (press and hold F2 during booting or restarting PC)
Go to "Security" tab -> Secure Boot menu ->Disable
Go to "Boot" tab -> Disable Fast Boot -> Enable Launch CSM ->Enable Launch PXE OpRom polocy.
Go to "Save & Exit" tab -> Save Changes and Exit -> Yes

Then boot again to BIOS
Go to "Save & Exit" tab -> Under the "Boot Override," choose the name of your USB to boot to USB
Then try to reset your windows.

I hope this works.

I've got the same problem.
I downloaded the backup USB but when I put those files on my usb I've got the same message.
I deleted all my partitions on Disk1. I have win 8.1

I tested the demonz500 tutorial but I got the same result.
Please help

OS is installed on the first HDD with only 1 partition

Buy? G750 already comes with Windows license, no need to buy anything.

1) Get hold of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or preferrably Windows 8.1 Update install disc (or ISO). Does not really matter where you get it, just make sure it is not fake or virus riddled version (if it is ISO match checksum agains known good checksum). The same install disc is good for both Core and Pro! But Volume Licensing version or Enterprise is no good, it's different. Perfectly legal and you can even download these images from Microsoft! You can also find checksums from Microsoft.

2) Make clean install. Use default installation key to make clean install. You can get these keys directly from Microsoft, nothing fishy about this! You can also find instructions from Microsoft and everything. Just google Windows 8 default key or something. Remember, this generic key won't allow you to activate Windows, only install, that's why Microsoft is willing to give them away for installing purposes. It is not pirated key or anything!

3) After install, use suitable software to dig your own product key out of G750's BIOS.

4) Start activation. Change product key, enter your own key. Activate. This is totally different than with Windows 7 for which you had to had correct OEM version of installer (or you manually had to install correct certificated) etc. One Windows 8 installer disc is good for Core, Pro, OEM or not.

5) Download install drivers from ASUS. Done.

Should not be hard, first thing I did for my G750 was deleting everything and then doing clean Windows 8.1 Update installation. Though I take a note of my product key before clean install so I did not have to use default installation key.
