Nice effort but it doesn't fit a normal 8.5x11 sheet of paper. :(

That's funny because I printed it just fine.....lol... Maybe you need to crop a little. I had to reduce size a little to upload it's like 10megs

I guess I can go after all. My friends canceled the trip to Anaheim. Seating chart is broke so I've no idea where any of you are sitting. I7 was open so I figured maybe it will bring me luck and I'll die less. I guess we'll see :D

Can't wait! Hopefully tickets start selling!?!

I don't think sales are any slower than last time. As long as the LAN keeps improving I think we'll start selling out. It'd be nice if we had a LAN as popular as PDXLAN in Cali.

Hey X what do you think of wire management contest at the LAN?? I might need another judge if it gets the ok!! Any volunteers??

xeromist
09-24-2010, 10:25 PM
Yeah, I've seen a lot of clean management so I can do it if you want. You realize though that if we judge then you and I can't participate ;) I do think it's a good contest. It's a useful skill that draws on creativity but unlike some other aspects of modding doesn't have to cost anything.

pcjunkie209
09-25-2010, 12:39 AM
I agree to the no cost aspect. As for participate in it I need two more judges total of three to get an average score and two of the judges will do the wire management to set the time standard. Basically we will do a trial run prior and average our time and anyone who beats our average will receive a bonus point towards overall score. And the closer you are to our time the higher you score. As for neatness that's why I want to use three judges need a medium to get an average score in neatness. What do u think does that sound good?!?

So we're going to run this like the PC build off as opposed to a case mod contest (where people just present the final product)? I suppose that would even things a bit because some cases are better at wire management than others but I feel like we could take that into account when judging. I do feel like it would be good to encourage people to do wire management in their own cases and let the creativity shine rather than fastest fingers. Whatever you want to do though, I'll go with it.

Ya basically I am gonna go buy two cases and two psu's and we should be good. But I posted on lanfest website to try and get some people that are interested and if I don't get at least 10-15 yes's then no go.

So, to give away the shirts I came up with the idea of doing the Hardware Loyalty Program. Everyone who had an Asus product came up and signed. Thus, this epic picture was born: http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/4131/photowfi.jpg

They all ran to sign the board!

I signed the board but I didn't get a shirt because I wasn't at my seat when they made the rounds. I was up front under the projector running the SCII Tournament.

I came and had a blast showing off the ASUS products in my home rig. I didn't bring a custom case with me this time, but since I got home I've had a couple of ideas.

I also participated in the overclocking contest. I only took third though. I guess I need to learn more about it to get better at it, because I do have good hardware (P6t V2 Deluxe with the i7 965EE and an ASUS GTX 460 which I clocked to 855 on the core with no voltage tweaks). The 980X is such a better chip than my 965EE though, it's kinda sad. :(

Either way, great LAN, and I hope ASUS can make it to the next one. Have a good time at Blizzcon for me because I wont be making it.

Edit: Also a big thanks to Kaboom for showing up and handing out Swag. I wish we had more single player events though so we could have seen your skills. I would have loved to see how you measure up in UT3 vs some of the best players there. (Myself included. ;) )

I took first in extreme class with Rampage 3 Gene and 980 at 4.5ghz and 460sc at 785. 69_goat's help in the ROG comp is what helped me here. I used his advice, thanks again Goat!

Yeah this is Lemiwinks. I didn't win the OC competition, but in the world of overclokcing, my gear is dated. (P6T V2 Deluxe, I7 965 EE and ENGTX 460). PC Junkie took first, and by wide margin.

At the next event though, I'll be showing up with a new custom mod (if my idea pans out), which will be showing off that i7, and 2 460's in SLI. Should be awesome.

Side note: I wrecked the UT3 Server that the Intel guy put up when he tried giving away an SSD through the UT3 challenge. He basically told me to my face though, that he didn't want to give me a SSD because I already had one. He wasn't very nice... :(

I'm not too bent out of shape about the SSD guy. If that's how he rolls then that's cool. He left a real sour taste in my mouth. At least I still have the Samsung SSD from, the Xtreme Design contest. A friend is using it right now, but once I get it back it'll work fine.

Damn, what do you do for work to have that much spare cash lying around for hardware like that? I can barely scrape together a couple hundred to do my builds, then I just use the hardware I have.

Well I drive truck for a living and do Pc builds and repair for a hobbie. My pcwork is where I got the cash and I bet performance loved me when I placed the order for close to $3000 in just parts and waterblocks I had bought my cards here and there. LOL

It went well. The Internet connection was slow but as long as you were playing LAN games everything worked fine. It was a fun event and lots of different stuff was given away. None of us has a complete list but pretty much the only thing that wasn't given away was a graphics card.
