Hello fellas, i've just bought my self a Asus G53SX-SZ016 here in Sweden. The specs are:

Intel core i5 2410m
Nvidia GTX560m 2bg GDDR5
1x Corsair F60 SSD
1x Western Digital Black 500gb HDD
15" 1080p Screen
4gb 1333mhz ddr3 memory.

Now I have some questions.

1. Which memory should i buy if i want to upgrade to let say 8gb, or 16gb which it supports.(is it worth it)

2. Have any of you OC'd the GPU(Should I?)

3. Can you update the bios? If so where to download.

I have read earlier in this forum that you should use the same manufactor when you want to upgrade your RAM. I have been looking on this to upgrade to 16GB http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B004BDOT7C

If there is a newer version of your BIOS out there, you should take a look at this site http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G53SX&p=3&s=282

If you are not sure of wich version your BIOS are you can download SIW (System Info for Windows) and look under "BIOS" to see wich version you have :)

To update BIOS you have to download the latest version, and extract file so you can get a file named "xxxx.205" (example).
Place this BIOS file in a folder were it is easy to find it again (example just place it in partition D).
Restart computer and press F2 in bootup and when you are in the BIOS, then you can go to "Advanced" and see if you find EasyFlash and start it.
Then you have access to your partitions and can find the BIOS update you downloaded and when you find it press enter and it starts by it self :)

I think he would brick his machine if he puts the bios file into an NTFS partition..
He should make a USB flash formatted with FAT32 and put the bios file there

I'm currently using a Asus X5DI because my G73 is in repair, for some bugs that I got with the computer when I bought it (backlit on keyboard and light under screen defect).

I updated BIOS on this computer few days ago and did it like I've written, but the link I used is this one, if there is some questions about how to do it:

Thanx mate.. I have updated my bios on my last laptop so i know the prosedure. But i just didnt know where to download the asus bios.

I was thinking of replacing the memory that is in the laptop right now, so i was thinking of buying these ones http://www.inet.se/artikel/5305526/corsair-8gb-kit-ddr3-so-dimm-1333mhz. Do you think they would fit/work with the computer.

No problem :)

I do not know if it will work with the computer, but it seems to be the right set of RAM for the laptop :)

Probably you can update the ATK Hotkey utility and see if that fixes the backlit on your keyboard issue. Mine didn't want to work at all =/ :P

at least it should be a "DDR3 SO-DIMM 204pin PC3-10600 1333MHz"

Be advised that your i5 G53SX might have only 2 ram slots, so max 8GB ram for you.
I have no idea if it built like a G53JW, but if it is then one memory slot is not reachable unless you disassemble the notebook and take out the screen to reach it.
