I havent see any threads about this topic.

My friend was at CES 2014 and he told me he saw an new g750 model, merked G750 JZ wich has all new gtx880.
I didnt belive him at first but then i saw on nvidia driver download page that u can get drivers for gtx820 already.
Then i stumbled upon a video on youtube in wich u can see the new g750 JZ with gtx 880.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEVdFXZVeFs

Im not sure but i think that nvidia didnt confirm the 800 series GPU's...

What do you guys think about this topic?

And btw the new g750 dosent have any screen refresh rate problems. I forgot wich screen he mentioned that it supposed to be used into JZ...

800 series GPU's are coming soon :D

Take care

Correct me If i'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that the gtx 880m was an overclocked version of the gtx 780m, is this correct?

And if someone were considering purchasing a G750JH, would it really be worth it to hold out for the G750JZ?

uhmm as far as the Cebit 2014 show goes the 880m is kinda a rebranded kepler and the only Maxwell chip I know coming out is the GTX860m.

rebrand but with HIGH clocks :) perfs are gonna be nice :) especially with the superb cooling system of the G750.. for the MSI's its another story since they will struggle to keep everything under 90s :)

Already preordered. Can't wait for the upgrade! going with the XS 72 (w/blu ray burner). I know the 32 gb of ram is overkill, but i like the extra ssd space, faster drive and the blu ray burner.

32GB is only overkill if you don't run VMs :)

Btw, whoever gets one of these, can you please confirm the model of the LCD Panel on the G750JZ?

Start>Run>devmgmt.msc>Monitor>Generic PnP Monitor>Properties>Details>Hardware_IDs

Thnx

drmrw, please post the parts info, LCD, memory, disk, wifi, bluetooth, etc. All models have slightly different parts mixes, and it would be nice to see what people are getting in different countries as well.

I also got the 24GB JH, and it was easy to find the exact same part on Ebay to round out to 32GB. I got the exact same part for $99 here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Apple-Hynix-8GB-RAM-SODIMM-Laptop-Memory-HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB-DDR3-1600MHz-/390742229259?

You do want to check the make and model number you actually have installed, and search using that part number.

You can use several programs to find out the info. AIDA Engineer, HWInfo, Performance Test, CPU-Z, etc

I assume it won't be different from the JZ...

That sounds promising.

How is the build quality? Hinges/hinge covers, keyboard, keyboard "backlit" lighting (uniform?), and the touchpad installation on your G750JS?

Everything seems great so far. Construction is strong and the keyboard is evenly lit and well built. I love the keyboard on this. There is a very slight gap between the aluminum frame and the plastic border on the right side of the laptop near the power button. Not very significant though and enough to forget about.

The touch-pad is by far the best I have ever used. It is big, fast, smooth and responsive. Doesn't make me wish I had a mouse when I am away from my desk. If I am right, the aluminum border around the touch-pad has a chamfered edges, like the edges of my HTC One. I don't believe the previous model had that.

BIOHAZARD9519, the gap, does it look like it would let liquids in? It should look tight like this (JX)

Sorry I meant near my num pad :S

It's as if the ports are slightly misaligned and are pushing the border out a bit. Here's a pic
