I bought an asus g750JX 2 weeks ago. I have directly upgrade to windows 8.1

So I don't know ih tje problem is the same in 8.0.

When I boot, I can see asus rog logo then the screen is going to black (but i can see the backlight so it is on) and the computer seems to boot correctly, my usb mouse lighting correctly. After 1minute or two, the screen power off but the computer stays on.

I have to keep the power button down the power off the computer then restart. Sometimes the screen is ok after 2 or 3 reboot. Sometime it display a screen "it seems your computer failed to boot" and when I hit restart it often boot well but not always...

I have updated bios to 209, drivers available for 8.1 nvidia, lan bluetooth, nothing changes.

I tried to look in windows event manager but i can't see something wrong about drivers or applications.

I'm restoring my computer to windows 8.0 to see if the problem exist in this version. it can took some days to see if the problem happens.

Any idea that can help ?

did you update the nVIDIA Driver from ASUS or from nVIDIA's site directly?

IF you updated from nVIDIA's site then you're doomed. only install drivers from ASUS from your laptop specific drivers download page. never update from the manufacturer directly unless you are looking for trouble

have fun restoring back your system

I have Asus G71, G73, G75 and now a G750. It's the first time that upgrading from NVidia is a problem...

I can understant that people switch back to windows7.

I'll let you know if Windows 8.0 boot correctly and eventually if windows 8.1 with asus/nvidia driver works correctly.

Thanks

Same problem with Windows 8.

after a contact with asus support, the support asked me to introduce an rma return.

I also have similar problem with your. In which I saw that the Bluetooth driver (latest version) is the problem one (you can actually see in the event viewer that which one has the problem) so I removed it and windows replace the driver with the generic one and the problem was gone.
