Do our notebook support high performance RAM both clock speed at 1866MHz and 2133MHz ??

If support, what is the best RAM to buy ??

I think G750JX support only 1600Mhz..anyway you can try yourself and see if it support this 1866Mhz or 2133Mhz.

Remember it must be 1.35 volt.

I haven't done this, but I am looking at the G.skill 1866 memory that registered as 1866 on a G750JX posted by povetkin a while back starting here:

thanks for the link!

definitely will try the 2133mhz.

I just installed Crucial 16GB Ballistix 16GB (8x2) 10-10-10-30 @ 1.35v memory and the G750JX recognized it. Here is a before and after benchmark comparison.

Ninemeister, that's awesome, the JX recognized the SODIMM's at 1866mhz, and you actually got a measurable 5% improvement from what amounts to a 15% clock improvement.

I am assuming you pulled all the 4GB ram and installed the 2 new SODIMM's under the keyboard? When you look at the memory specs with CPU-Z, what slot numbers does it say are occupied?

Are you going to spring for 2 more and make it a full 4x = 32GB?

What is the model number for the SODIMM's, and a link to where you bought it?

You might want to make a summary post to the main memory sticky for the forum too for future / long term reference, besides posting in this thread.

Yes, I pulled all four of the stock Samsung 4GB SODIMM's and installed the new ones under the keyboard. CPU-z shows the slots under the keyboard as being slot #2 and #4.

My plans are to install another 16GB with the same memory for a total of 32GB. I play with VMware Workstation with Windows7 and Kali Linux VM's, along with occasionally using a RAMdrive. 32GB @ 933MHz should suffice just fine, but the geek in me want to push my luck and try some 1066MHz (2133MHZ) PC3 1700. The Corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2B2133C11 looks really tempting. The rated timings are 11-11-11-27 with a CL of 11. What really intrigues me is the fact they were able to get the tRAS down to 27... very tempting.

The memory I used I was very picky with. A low CL was pinnacle in my decision making, regardless of any potential compatibility issues. Crucial Ballistix SN: BLS2C8G3N18AES4CEU. Newegg was out of stock (probably permanently) so I ended up going to Amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DSGLMSM/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

The only aspect that i'm disappointed with is the resulting tRAS. Crucial rates it as supporting tRAS-30 @ 933MHz (1866MHz), but apparently due to XMP non-compatibility it defaults to tRAS-32. Definitely something I should have researched into a bit more.
