Is the Asus Rog Panel going to be compatible on the Crosshair V Formula-z?(i mean if it works and if i can oc the cpu etc etc)
I am have it and i really want to buy that Front panel cause it's awesome!!!It would be ashame that it won't be compatible on that ...
Please tell me if it works or not....I hope it works :3

Sorry to be the person to have to tell you this but your board isn't compatible. The Front Base is only compatible with the Maximus VI series and the Rampage IV Black Addition. :/

C5FZ is almost 2 years old - designed way before Front Base unfortunately.

any info on release date?

03-21-2014, 02:10 PM
Hello all, proud new ROG owner and memeber here. I have been checking daily for this and am still waiting. I just think aesthetically this would make my rig even that much more awesome! Please let me know if anyone hears anything about the release date. If I manage to find it I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Should be any day now, they just announced the Poseidon Platinum about an hour ago. I've been looking for that Front Base for my new build as well.

03-22-2014, 09:49 PM
same here im patiently waiting on it and i have been waiting to see the 780 ti platinum

keep an eye out in the next couple weeks....according to JJ has been released and being shipped now to retailers

Man, why doesn't Asus make a gamer FM2+? All the other board makers have!
The 7850k has power equivalent to the i5-4670k on all levels except it has slightly worse single-core process performance.
It can actually be put in a fairly serious gaming machine, and be practical. Just pop in a GPU of your choice to replace the integrated graphics, and ba-boom.

Can someone please coax Amazon or Newegg into listing this?
Want one bad...

03-28-2014, 03:45 AM
I'm honestly surprised there are no pre-orders available anywhere. I would've put down cash already if possible, and I have never pre-ordered a PC component because I normally prefer to wait to see what kind of bugs or issues pop up with something new.

03-31-2014, 05:29 AM
Wow this thing looks really nice I haven't seen a release date yet maybe this summer..

03-31-2014, 06:15 AM
JJ told me this coming week, 3/31/14 - 4/6/14

The only place I can find it for sale is in Australia. Unfortunately I haven't found anyone there willing to ship it to the US.

04-02-2014, 06:39 PM
Can anyone at ASUS confirm whether or not the Cosmos 2 front door can be closed with the ROG Front Base installed?
I see it being used as the demo machine, so there may be hope!

04-03-2014, 10:12 PM
doubt you will be able to close the door due to the function knob on the front base but I guess well find out soon if it really is coming in 3 days ;/ waiting .....need more specs on fan controls

It's now Monday, April 7th of 2014 and still no updates/posts on where to buy this in USA.

Is there some sort of problem?

04-07-2014, 01:36 PM
Hi guys
I think this unit will fit any ROG boards with the ROG-EXT
I have the OC Panel but this would look sweet in my rig.

The Front Base works with the following motherboards.

Maximus VI Extreme
Maximus VI Formula
Maximus VI Gene
Maximus VI Hero
Maximus VI Impact
Rampage IV Black Edition

I too am impatiently waiting on this to be available. Pre-order/retail whatever. I want it now !!!
Can we get a date and price that is concrete or ar we at the mercy of "JJ says anytime soon"

04-07-2014, 05:55 PM
Let me try and find out..

04-07-2014, 06:06 PM
Okay guys, the Front Base was shipped by us to retailers last week. Newegg should have it up any day now.

04-07-2014, 07:33 PM
It is for sale on Amazon, but it is from an international seller, so it is substantially more expensive then the expected price. Here is a link:

Hopefully we'll get it from domestic vendors and a cheaper price point soon.

04-07-2014, 08:02 PM
Thanks Raja,
Do we have a price for it yet?

04-08-2014, 04:25 PM
Heh, now they are scalping on newegg:

04-09-2014, 03:52 PM
Its sad that a scalper can offer the same item at an inflated price, that a retailer supplied from the mfg directly cannot even offer yet. On THIER OWN website.

04-09-2014, 05:09 PM
It's on Newegg at the $79.99 price point we were told about, but shock of all shocks: They are out of stock...chuckle.

04-09-2014, 06:05 PM
Thats not a newegg item, its a 3rd party….

04-09-2014, 09:11 PM
It says "Sold and Shipped by Newegg" right under the $79.99 price.

04-12-2014, 03:23 PM
I have the Front Base installed in my PC but the strange thing is when I install the Front Base drivers the RPM readers just gets stuck at 443rpm and other values on rest of the fans even if I change the fan speed to max from AIsuite the Front Base still shows only 443 and when I uninstalled the drivers the RPM readers worked perfectly but then I could not enter the EDIT mode on the Front Base, any fix on this would be appreciated.

04-12-2014, 08:37 PM
It says "Sold and Shipped by Newegg" right under the $79.99 price.

My mistake.

Pity though that it was out of stock before it even showed online to me

Anyone know if/when more will be manufactured and sent to distributors ... or should I bite the bullet and buy at twice the price from one of these third parties before they are no where to be found??

04-13-2014, 11:20 PM

They say here Amazon should have their stock listed later this week:

Wait for it to get listed is my advice!

Mine arrived from Newegg last night. Looks sexy….

04-20-2014, 11:33 PM
I have a motherboard Asus Maximus VI Extreme, and I have installed already the OC Panel of the motherbord on the connector ROG EXT and the sound cable of my case on the AAFP connector.

How can I install toogether the OC Panel and the ROG Front Base if They are only one connector ROG EXT and only one connector AAFP on the motherboard. Exist one Y cable to connect the two ?

Thank you for your help.

04-21-2014, 12:38 AM

You can only use one or the other. Not both.

04-21-2014, 01:08 AM
Thank you for your information.
I believed that I could install the both, because I had seen this picture where they is one tower with the both.

06-24-2014, 02:13 AM
cool but it doesn't support maximus v formula i'm gonna pass on this one
