View Full Version : Calculator hotkey not working with UAC off.

I can't run my calculator by using the FN+NUM Enter hotkey when I have Windows UAC disabled.

Error source:
HKLM \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ WMI \ Security \

Does anyone know a possible workaround? I use it a lot so it's a bit of an annoyance :)

Hi, I have UAC set to 'never notify' and the calc. hotkeys work. OS is Win 8.1.

UAC must not be disabled if you want to run Metro apps.

I always disable it on Windows 7 but not on Windows 8

So is hibernation, you should never disable hibernation if you want to benefit from the fast boot/shutdown

My UAC is off, calculator still works.

You mean the fn + enter combo? If so, it still works for me. Win 8.1

with uac off (first thing to change on new os)

windows 8 working
windows 8.1 update not working
windows 7 working

something broke it when updating from 8 to 8.1

hibernation is disabled (second thing to change on new os)
its dangerous when multibooting. it will corrupt files.
with ssd it would save me less than 10 seconds boot time. i can live with that.
