Hello

I have a asus g73jh I ordered online and had upgraded

anyway my DVD drive is starting to act up
and I wish to replace it before it dies
I have been looking all over the internet for the best deal
my problem is I want the best drive I can get at the best price
but what brand???
I do not need blu-ray
but I do burn a lot of cd-r's and some dvd's but mostly cd-r's
so I wish to get the best burner I can get
I am looking at a Samsung TS-L633
but would like to stay with a Asus dvd rw cdr rw drive
but asus.com does not show nothing for my asus g73jh
can anyone direct me to what would be the best DVD-rw cd-rw ????

Thanks Bill

Hi Wolfin, Welcome to the ROG forum. How about this, it has lightscribe for your cd's/dvd's.

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Samsung-TS-L632-Internal-LightScribe/dp/B003A05HIM

It is similar to what you are looking at.

I think that is the older version the Samsung •Toshiba TS-L632 and the Samsung •Toshiba TS-L633 are the same thing just that I think the ts-l633 maybe newer??
then I was looking at the Hitachi/LG GT30N my point I think I am trying to get at as GT30N is made by whom hitachi or LG as with
the TS-L632 or L633 made by whom Samsung or Toshiba??
I thought one time I was getting a good deal on a dvd burner for my PC it lasted a month then died just to find out it was made in china
so with my Asus Laptop I do not want to end up getting a DVD RW that is not a good brand name and not one made in china with a LG, Samsung, Hitachi, etc. stamp on it

If you are undecided you can look at some user reviews or do a top ten list.
