Might be overheating or bad drivers. Check those two. Hope it helps, keep us updated ; ].

My G74 has done this a few times while playing Skyrim. In my case it looks like it came down to a memory issue. I have a 9.5GB RAM drive that I keep the game loaded on (what load times?), so I only effectively have 4.5GB of usable RAM by the game and Windows 7. I've added the ENB and SSME fixes, which made the game FAR faster (in combination with tweaking the .ini to take full advantage of my i7's multiple cores and hyperthreading, I've gained about 20-25 FPS on average) and eliminated the occasional CTD I'd get, but I would still get the occasional random reboot while playing, even after using "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks" to clear any application residuals from my "unused" RAM. Out of curiosity I installed and set up CleanMem to run with Skyrim and purge every 15 minutes and now the game is rock solid, with no discernible impact on performance.
