Sorry I didnt use the right search terms!

Ive now found a few products, SO allow me to use this thread to instead, list my findings, experience, and ask others opinions and experience :)

I found this one (http://hddcaddy.com/en/asus-hdd-caddy/501-asus-g750-hdd-caddy.html) that is 'designed' for the g750, however $40 is a bit steep if you ask me, considering you can get this one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-Laptop-2nd-Hard-Drive-DVD-Bay-Caddy-9-5mm-IDE-to-SATA-for-TOSHIBA-NEW-/290977331451?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item43bf99b8fb&_uhb=1) for $24!
Im pretty confident in my thought that DVD drives must work the same in terms of the removable bezel.

Does anyone know the G750's SATA controller's max HDD limit ??
Would I be able to connect a 1.5TB or even 2TB drive into all three SATA ports ? (built in two and DVD bay caddy)

On the other hand, Would I be able to replace the DVD drive with one such as this blue ray one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hp-Toshiba-Acer-Asus-Blu-Ray-Combo-Drive-Player-DVD-Burner-SATA-Laptop-Notebook-/221145497719?pt=AU_OpticalDrives&hash=item337d4c8077&_uhb=1), replacing the bezel, and it would work fine??

Forgive me for these silly questions!!
Im not familiar with the limits of laptops as ive always used a desktop and this is only my third laptop D:

Thanks for your input!

Old post:

Hey again guys and gals!
This time my question is abou the internal DVD drive that came with my laptop c:
I hate it! The quality feels so terrible I feel like its going to eject itself out some day D:
So I have done a little looking around, and do you know if ill be able to remove the bezel from the included drive, and reattatch it to a different drive?? probably a blue ray one?
or even better, one of these hard drive caddy things! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-Laptop-2nd-Hard-Drive-DVD-Bay-Caddy-9-5mm-IDE-to-SATA-for-TOSHIBA-NEW-/290977331451?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item43bf99b8fb&_uhb=1

But i want it to be a at least near flush fit :/

Anybody else had any success in this area ?

Hi, G750 only have tested 1TB HDD, so can't ensure 1.5TB or larger HDD can be used.
You can replace the Blue-ray DVD.

Thanks for that Davy c:
Do you know if its a standard 12.7mm bay ???
And in theory should it support 1.5TB ?
