hey folks, i am sure there is a thread or two about this but i dont have a working computer at home and am having trouble accessing the site through my phone, so i am hoping to not get too much backlash about my question. i am ninja posting from work!

i have a g75vw that came with win7 and through best buy got the win8 upgrade for free. i decided the other day i absolutely hate win8 so found the process to downgrade. now i am stuck with a screen that says activating windows services. i tried flashing the bios from a post i saw here but it still wont work. is there another work around? or am i going to have to pony up the cash to send it for repair to asus?

thanks in advance!

I would just clean install win 7, see this thread (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?14583-Upgrading-the-G75VW&country=&status=) You will need a Downloadable ISO win 7 SP 1 Home premium. Your disk is probably already set up UEFI GPT. I suspect that perhaps your image is only win7 hp, you need the SP1 to support UEFI GPT disk and installation. Remember to download all the win 7 drivers form Asus Support Download (http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1)for your NB.

If you had made the AI Recovery disk set when you first got your NB before the Win 8 had been installed, you could recover win 7 that way.

I was able to download a win7 iso. When I put the disk in and reboot the computer it continues to go to the services screen and then gives me an error message saying the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Press Ok to restart the computer and then restart the installation. Is there a way for me to restart a fresh install?
