Just picked up a wired Apple keyboard for ergonomic reasons. (I love the kb on my JX, but having to be so close to the screen on a day to day basis is not the best thing for my shoulders and neck).

Thus far it works great. Plug and play despite being on Windows 7 and not OSX.

I didn't use many of the functions on the JX keyboard, however, I did use a few. Mostly the volume controls, and the calculator command (fn + far right enter).

Is there a way for me to map these properly to the new keyboard? There is an fn key on the Apple kb, but it doesnt function as the ASUS key did.

It looks like there are programs to do this such as

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/map-any-key-to-any-key-on-windows-xp-vista/

Ive never messed with a keyboard before so I am curious if there is a better way, or a preferred program for doing so.

thanks

Generally this sort of functionality is built into the keyboard firmware. You can try one of the mapping utilities, but I don't think you will be able to map hotkeys on the external keyboard with said utilities.
