MalwareBytes scan listed this (part of the ASUS system, i later found out, as a rootkit:
Rootkit.Necurs.GO
C:\eSupport\eDriver\I386\Aspr0b64.sys
* I deleted it, and now I'm finding posts saying it was an ASUS thing i should've kept :

- Any ideas?
my computer seems to be running fine. so far anyway.
I googled; can't find any info on the Aspr file.

Seems to be something associated with ASUS itself, and collects driver information. I could give you a copy of mine if something bad begins to happen.

I think it might regenerate if you hit "AsP1Sysprep.exe" in your C:\eSupport\eDriver\I386

what happened when i clicked "AsP1Sysprep.exe"?
- it did some SysPrep thing for about 20-30minutes, then my computer got really slow. then explorer.exe crashed.
i re-booted a few times and things seem back to normal now. (i hope!)
- it didn't regenerate that C:\eSupport\eDriver\I386\Aspr0b64.sys file.
i'm not sure i need it!
wish i could find out more about the thing...
- thanks, by the way!
