View Full Version : How To Install Linux Onto G750

I've been pulling my hair out these past few months trying to install any new OS (not just Linux) onto my laptop.

I created a second partition for OS's I want to try out but every time I reboot my PC with the USB drive in (with fast boot turned off) it will just load up into Windows.

When I completely disable the main HDD, it will just restart the PC and go back into BIOS.

I'm well and truly going nuts! Any advice?

Press F2 to load up the bios and make USB the priority boot device dawg.

I did, I even went as far as disabling the HDD from boot all together but it simply reboots back into BIOS.

I know this has something to do with Windows 8 and its intergration, I've been reading about it all over the internet, making life a missery for anyone who wants to change or install another OS.

Have you enabled "Launch CSM" mode?

If you enable "Launch CSM", you should be able to select a boot source, (and boot from USB).

Be warned though, don't mess with or remove the Windows Boot Manager (partition).

Select Legacy for CSM option, though most Linux Distro's should be UEFI Compliant by now.
