View Full Version : Need some starter tips on adding an SSD to my g750JX

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this has been answered previously, I couldn't find it.

I recently got a G750JX, perfect all save the fact it only came with a default 1 Tb Hdd. I've decided to add an SSD to it and purchased a new 240 Intel SSD drive.

Now, there are a number of guides online on how to backup the Windows install and everything, but I would really appreciate some tips on really the basic basic steps.

Namely: in which side of the two drive ports should I install the new SSD (and does that mean moving the original 1Tb drive?)

After I install the new SSD, should my BIOS recognize it authomatically or should I "update my BIOS " (as the store guy said) and how do I go about doing that?

I found this nice guide, http://forums.**********.com/showthread.php?t=193, but unfortunately the link for the Windows torrent is dead. Any other way to proceed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Thank you, but both Win 8 or 8.1 installers won't accept my key (which I uncovered using the Windows Product Key Viewer)
