Bought a maxed out one from newegg came in black not aluminum blue as advertised, but it has win 8.1 pro 64 880 m gtx, 256x2 ssd raid 0, 1 tb in 2 partitions, blue ray writer and 32gigs ram so hardware is nice, but the bios is 205 and sys info says , G750JZA as system model, bios is G750JZA.205 2/20/2014. also it just installed win updates and on restart is said could not install, undoing updates or changes.

love the specs but the latest bios is209 is 209 the right one?

and I hate win 8 anyway to downgrade to win 7?
have 2 weeks to return it.

did a full long reset with internet connected so im lost here. would love win 7 with these specs.
tnx

The latest bios posted on the G750JZ ASUS download site (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G750JZ&p=3&s=521) for the G750JZA is 0207, so a little curious where you saw the 209 bios.

Unfortunately, there are not any Win7 drivers posted on the ASUS G750JZ download site, so doesn't sound like ASUS is providing any official Win7 support for this notebook currently.

Not sure if you want to work on getting more comfortable with Win8.1, but if you install the Win8.1 update, it should boot Windows to the desktop by default.
Also, right click in the bottom left-hand corner to access the menu for many common desktop items.

Win 8.1 drivers will work.
Only asus bloatware didnt. If you want that kind, use classic shell
