Hey guys I was thinking about getting this monitor...its got some good reviews....

I am new on connecting this to my laptop. I want to use this mostly for gaming and to get the best performance, should I hook it up to my hdmi or my vga port.

Definitely HDMI, I don't know why there's a VGA port at all these days. VGA is an analog signal so you don't get the same image quality and setup if you use it, plus the monitor then has to convert the analog signal to a digital signal sent to the display. HDMI is 100% digital and is also able to carry audio streams at the same time, so it makes it super easy to connect to a home theater system. 1 cable and I'd have surround sound and games on my HDTV from the laptop.

Would be nice if ASUS replaced the VGA port with a DisplayPort or eSATA port. VGA...this is 2011! :)
